There is a first development snapshot of Gimp 2.5 available and some screens about it. You can download this unstable version and read the complete list of changes.
besides this good news of Gimp development the Gimp User Manual is updated to version 2.4.1 and is available for download too.

imagine gimp and Xsane working at the same time ... 7 windows for only 2 aplications ... I love gimp but I hate this :frown:

Would you happen to know anything about a.) the new GIMP UI project and(/or) b.) the GIMPshop application. I use Photoshop, but I'm preparing to build a Ubuntu-based desktop, and I'm trying to get as much info as I can so I build it right the first time.

Take a closer look to the screenhsots, there you can see some changes. I'm sure more is coming soon.
