plugin, jpg, png, save, GIMP, gif, web export, save for web

A month ago Aurimas Juska has updated his nice "Save for Web" plugin for GIMP up to 0.28.4. This web export is simliar to Photoshop's "Save for Web" and allow you to export graphics into the popular image formats Gif, JPEG and PNG. The exporter dialog gives you a visual feedback and includes functions for croping and resizing.

I couldn't try it out it was just available as
sources and Windows binaries. Now i found at a Ubuntu board a
Ubuntu deb archive of 0.28.4 of this version which looks sweet and runs well

I updated my article
"Pimp the Gimp for 3D" too.

Awesome, thanks for linking us to this...I had to finish an HTML email for a client today and I got to give this a spin at the same time. Very handy tool! I just can't seem to press "enter" to save a file after I've typed in the file name - I have to press the Save button manually. Do you experience this too?

now i'm uptodate with Ubuntu Hardy Heron (YEAH!) and on my system anything works fine.
"I have to press the Save button manually. Do you experience this too?" - Nope, here it runs perfect. Drop Aurimas a line about it: http://registry.gimp.org/node/33
He will always answer

Indeed. Works perfectly on Hardy and was just what I needed. Who needs Photoshop?
