Blender roadmap up to 2.50

At Blender.org a roadmap to 2.50 is posted. It shows before we geting a lot of new stuff we getting first 2.44 with some additions. After that we could be pationed about 2.50 end of this year.

SubSurface Scattering (SSS) with Blender 2.43

Last time i postet about very cool toon & sketch rendering with Blender and now comes the next strike: SubSurface Scattering (SSS). Mpan shows in his article a fantastic and easy way using Blender's compositing features to do SubSurface Scattering. This rocks!

Blender 2.43 compositing features

Again Blender, my favorite 3D software, rocks more and more. In the current docs of the upcoming version 2.43 a new compositing feature is described: Defocus. It simulates depth of field rendering in compositing which is much faster then real 3D calculation.
