Last week the Libre Graphics Meeting 2008 took place in Wroclaw (Poland). Now video streams of the LGM conference, presentations and workshops are available online.

Qtpfsgui, a graphical user interface that enables users to work with HDR images, is updated to version 1.9.2. This Version tries to fix several filename encoding bugs.

Inkscape 0.46 reaches the final state and is now available for download.

The website and blog of the SVG Open 2008 opened up. This year the SVG Open take place in Nuremberg/ Germany.

A prerelease of the upcoming Inkscape 0.46 release is now available for download. Download it, try it and report bugs!

There is a new Tango icon set for Inkscape that will ship with 0.46. I personal like it much more then the other icon sets that are available.
You can use it with your local installed Inkscape too. Just download a archive of a windows built, the icon theme can be found in "inskcape/shared/icons".

UniConvertor a universal vector graphics translator based on the sK1 engine is released as version 1.1.0. It will used by the upcoming Inkscape 0.46 for importing CorelDraw files (*.cdr) too.
Sourcecode and binaries are available for various systems, including Ubuntu 7.10.

May it seems we are close to the 0.46 release of Inkscape because the release notes of 0.46 are published yet. It is a very interesting list and includes all the features i posted and someting interesting like:
* Import of CorelDraw (*.cdr) files via Uniconverter
* CMYK and color profile support
* lot of effects via ImageMagick
* better support for PDF and Adobe Illustrator (*.ai)
* dockable dialoges
* ...and of course more speed

All in all it will be an amazing release and i hope we will get it soon.
