The FontForge release schedule is a little bit slower these days - but they still are active. Since the last June release they fixed a lot of bugs and made a lot of smaller improvements (too much to write it down here).

After a skiped release in March a new monthly version of the powerful, cross platform
font editor FontForge is available. Besides the typical minor improvements, bugfixes and translation updates this shipped with:
* Support composites (references) in bitmap fonts
* Support for the JSTF table (sfd extension)
* Set of new python functions for manipulating CID keyed fonts
* Add support for reading/writing version 1.8 of Adobe's feature file format

End of last year i reported about a new version of the font editor
FontForge that shipped with a X Resource editor to customize the (ugly) interface of FontForge. Now i started to create a smoother interface for Fontforge. Here is my first attempt:

If you know the ugly and fat look&feel of the standard interface you know that this first try is really smooth

You can
download the theme here. To use it with FontForge go into the preferences and select the "fontforge-theme-area42" file as a "ResourceFile" at the option set "Generic".

A new release of the powerful, cross platform
font editor FontForge. It comes with a many changes. I wished they would porting it to GTK to have a nice interface instead of this very oldschool, ugly GUI.
