Inkscape 0.46 code freeze started besides smaller changes no code changes are longer accepted. One of the last minute features that was implemented was the long requested angeled guidlines. One really fine thing of the development of Inkscape they always try to import the speed. This time they did a huge speed improvements for the PNG export.
