If you like to use Eclipse for web development you should definetly try out Aptana Studio Community Edition. Aptana Studio Community Edition is really amazing and adds so much nice and cool features to Eclipse:* A normal file tree
* FTP support
* AJAX development
* Validation
* Help and references
* additional plugins for Ruby, Adobe AIR and Php
A howto to add Aptana to your existing Eclipse is available too.
If you haven't Eclipse installed yet take as a base the Php Developer Tools (PDT).

I have used Aptana last year but now the license has changed. I wasn't sure if it was good or bad for me. So i deinstalled Aptana and used normal Eclipse again. Some features of Aptana are available for normal Eclipse too:
If you want to use FTP or SSH for remote file transfer then try out the Remote System Explorer from the Eclipse Target Management Project: http://www.eclipse.org/dsdp/tm/
I use Eclipse + Subclipse (SVN) + PDT + WST and other plugins and thought that there was a validator for HTML, XML, CSS and so on. But i have never tested this validator.
For AJAX perhaps the AJAX Toolkit Framework http://www.eclipse.org/atf/ is interesting. Not yet used it but hopefully in the near future.
