Do we really know what effect coffee has on oneself ?

Many things can make me tired ( or does it occur to me not to be tired ? Mmm ? ) but I wonder whether it's a direct consequence of drinking much coffee or not.

First, I regularly have difficulties for falling asleep even when I'm very tired ...
11pm Thinking, switching the light on ... writing my thoughts down (yes, I know ...), switching the light off ..., writing SMS ... Oh my god, already 1am !!!

After the night, I am usually sleepy the whole day at work, ..

Caffeine binds on receptors for the neurotransmitter "adenosine"1 which makes one sleep.
Secondly and because the adenosine receptors multiply, I get more sensible to it when there's no caffeine intake.
In other words, I drink coffee, I feel am stimulated during few hours then I feel over-tired.

Caffeine also increases the adrenaline2 production through increased dopamine3 secretion.
What wouldn't be freed in normal circumstances is released which means the very little energy left is consumed and one finishes more tired than before having drunk coffee.

Moreover, I often have headache ... And, I keep private the consequences on XXX !

I know: I'm naturally anxious and I spend my time front of a computer, so ... it also can explain much of it

What about you ? Do you feel addicted to coffee and how your body seems to behave ?

When I drink coffee I am so much more happier and chattier and I run around like a hyperactive rabbit despite being overweight, I feel like a feather,
And yeah I feel more creative too.
But but but
When the caffeine wears out maaaaan
Feels like a flat tire!

You shouldn't drink cofee, particularly strong black expresso, after 4 hours before bedtime, Arnaud!

If I do, I lie awake for three or four hours. Bettre to drink good old fashioned cocoa or wrm milk which helps you sleep.

It's just common sense!
