Native Instruments releases Kore

, ,

After months and months of marketing, weekly e-mail blasts and website revisions, Native Instruments finally releases the much-anticipated (or just 'much-promoted') Kore: Universal Sound Platform.

The first of it's kind, Kore is a device that aims to help you organize, manage and control your various virtual instruments and effects. It's a concept that has confused many, including myself. It's not quite a Muse Receptor, but it's not quite a Novation X-Station either. It hosts plug-ins but it's not exactly like V-Stack or AU Host.

So what exactly is it? Essentially, it's both.

By cataloging and indexing the sounds and soft-synth presets on your computer (similar to the way Spotlight or Google Desktop index files on a computer), Kore acts as a soft-synth manager, orgnazing them and making access simple. When you pull up one of your favorite preset synth sounds, Kore conveniently opens the plug-in that that sound was originally created it, launches it and recalls your controller assignments for that particular plug-in -- instantly.

Another powerful feature is the way that Kore actually catalogs sounds. When you've got thousands of synths indexed, how do you find the one sound you actually want? Well, by organizing sounds by their sonic character ('puslating pad', 'dark atmospheric string, 'ethnic percussion' etc.) Kore makes finding sounds both fast and efficient. Better yet, you have the option of scrolling through sounds visually (on screen as a plug-in) or tactically using the hardware controller! An absolute plus for those of you who miss the days of dedicated knobs on traditional hardware synths.

This makes Kore a dream for musicians who want to use their virtual instruments in a live setting but who hate actually having to navigate their systems with a mouse on stage. Kore makes it physical, more exciting performance.

Kore is no doubt a unique product and demand is high! It retails for $499 and is currently available in our webstore! For a limited time if you purchase Kore with Komplete 3 you'll save $350 off the normal cost of Komplete and get Komplete Care 2006 (normally $399) for free!!! If you do happen to already own Komplete 2 or 3 and you purchase Kore, you get the option of having several additional items at no extra charge! Pick between Komplete Care 2006, Komplete Sound, Komplete 3 Upgrade or Akoustic Piano. For more information on Kore call us att 404-329-9494 or visit the Native Instruments website.
