I took the photo in a garden near my home ~ I'm glad you like it. I didn't do anything but adding a frame to it in Photoshop. And yes, it's a photo flash I'm testing, and it fully lives up to my expectations! I took some pics of bugs as well, but they weren't as cooperative as the flowers

I have a Canon EOS 300D, I bought it a couple of years ago. I love taking close up photos, the closer the better. This photo is just one out of approximately 80 photos I took that day, so I don't plan to post all my photos. I planned to use them as illustrations for my blog postings from time to time.
The first photos I took with the flash was of butterflies - there is one photo on my blog, posted April 29th.

Wow, same camera.
I use to wind up with soooo many pictures. Now I may take a hundred and keep only the best ones. I have a lot of them in my albums on opera.
What lens do you use?

For this sort of pics I use a Cosina 100 mm macro lens. It has amazed me how sharp the photos get with this unoriginal lens, which wasn't very expensive. I now await that Canon will come up with a 100 mm macro lens with image stabilizer in it - like Nikon has in their new macro lens. But it may take a while according to my camera shop. The best thing about digital photos is that it doesn't matter how many pictures you take - the price is always the same
