There is a song I would like to share with you dudes and dudettes. But is it legal to upload it to my blog without breaking copyright laws?

I can only please one person a day. Today isn’t your day.
Tomorrow doesn’t look good either.

TV vs. DVDs

, , ,

The worst thing about being ill is that it's so damn boring. I generally don't watch much TV, but when I am ill I usually watch a lot of junk TV, and I hate it.

So this time I decided to do things differently. Reading makes my headache worse, so I have watched DVDs instead. Five of them until now to be precise.

First I saw "Blinkende Lygter" ("Flickering Lights"), a Danish movie about four small gangsters from Copenhagen who trick a gangster boss: They take over 4,000,000 kroner which they were supposed to bring him. It's a comedy; basically about the hope that can grow out of desperation. A very cool movie. If you can get your hands on it, you should watch it. And it comes with English subtitles as well.

Then I saw "Blades of Glory".
It is about two rival Olympic ice skaters who were stripped of their gold medals and permanently banned from men's single competition. However they discover a loophole that will allow them to qualify as a pairs team.

A comedy, non-committal but entertaining.

"Hitch" was up next. A romantic comedy where Will Smith plays a "date-doctor", who knows what works with women and teaches the guys who do not do well with them some tricks of the trade. Then he finds a girl who he falls for and everything that he thinks he knows does not work out for himself. I like this movie - in fact I think Will Smith plays better in this one than in most of his action movies.

I have a DVD called "Pixar Short Films Collection, vol. 1", which I also watched yesterday.

Pixar has made so many cool short films. The latest ones are their best if you ask me, and the "For The Birds"-film from the photo here is my favourite.

(I just Googled it, and some of the small birds have actually got names: Bully, Chipper, Snob and Neurotic. It suits them very well! )

The last one I saw yesterday was "The Green Mile". There are so many positive things I could write about this film, but basically it is a story about the lives of guards on death row leading up to the execution of a giant black man accused of child murder and rape, who has the power of faith healing. I absolutely love this film, as I loved the book. An extra bonus about seeing the movie instead of reading the book is actor David Morse. I love him in this movie! flirt

So... apart from sleeping and blogging, this is pretty much what I have been doing the last two days.

Stop Smoking Day

, ,

No Smoking Day is an annual health awareness day that began in the United Kingdom in 1984. The day is intented to help smokers that want to quit smoking.

We have adopted the tradition in Denmark, so March 7th is out National Stop Smoking Day. 25% of the adult Danish population smoke, and statistics say that half of them would like to quit.

I have never smoked. Everybody in my family smoked but my grandmother and me. I remember I hated the smell of it, and that was enough reason for me not to start. Now I am allergic and get breathing problems when I am around people who smoke, so I was glad when the law against smoking in public building was introduced in August last year. That means I can go out and still be able to sleep at night without waking up gasping for air.
