Teacher fired

, , , ,

I read on the news that the headmaster at an Århus area school believed a teacher's placement of a song about having sex that included 'dirty words' on his homepage crossed the line of acceptable behaviour for a teacher and fired him.

The teacher had only been employed as a substitute teacher for 11 and 12-year-olds at Tilst School since March. But the uploading of his song 'Adam and Eva' to his personal homepage made his employment short-termed.

I searched the web for the song that caused such a dramatic step, and honestly, that's the worst song text I've ever read. It's in Danish, so I can't just copy the lyrics in here, but the first verse goes like this:

it's only
it's only
it's only cunt I want
it's only cunt I want
I am a horny pig
I am a horny pig
I am a horny pig
I am a horny pig
I am a horny pig
I am a horny pig
I am a horny pig
fuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuck
fuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuck
fuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuck

And so on, and so on....

I think you deserve getting fired when you write such crappy texts!

 :headbang:

Darko 25. June 2008, 07:02

He is deeply disturbed

Kimmie 25. June 2008, 07:11

What a fucking moron. I agree with you, he deserved to be fired!

r♡se 25. June 2008, 07:41

Looks like somebody needs to get laid...

The Dark Furie 25. June 2008, 09:10

It's not like he was singing it to the kids though. He put it on his personal page. Considering some of the things we've all posted ya gotta wonder what the context was.

Attila 25. June 2008, 09:24

@ Darko ~ It sure sounds as there is a bit or two missing in his head, yes.

@ Kimmie ~ Yeah! Stupidity still lives!

@ Rose ~ I think you hit the nail on the head!

@ Mik ~ I have been browsing around to find more about it. And he says himself that a kid asked for a digital photo of him, and he gave the kid his web adress. The kids started to browse around on the page, and eventually they found the song-section.
They asked the teacher to sing the song for them, but he refused.
Shortly after he got fired.
The headmaster thinks a little bit differently though. She says that several of the girls in the class were disgusted by the song.
A bonus info is, that this is not the first school the teacher got fired from due to "disagreements with school administrators".

The Dark Furie 25. June 2008, 09:31

Well, I've just been writing a post about a guy who got fired from his school for witchcraft after showing the kids a magic trick. You can see why I wondered.

The Dark Furie 25. June 2008, 09:33

If it was this country the girls would be singing the song. :irked:

Attila 25. June 2008, 09:34

I'd surely not want to see this teacher's "magic trick"!

Cois 25. June 2008, 11:16

@Rose..
There days you never know eh.. One might act all innocent but we do reveal something of ourselves when we put stuff out..

r♡se 25. June 2008, 12:07

 Tilla!

Cois! :eyes: Are you putting out?

Carol 25. June 2008, 12:17

I don't like the text either but he didn't write it or sing it. So some girls didn't like it than they don't need to see his personal page.

Attila 25. June 2008, 13:04

Yes Carol, he wrote it. And on his website he sings it too.

Carol 25. June 2008, 15:29

I mean in the classroom he didn't sing it.
Just unreal, people are like that.

Attila 25. June 2008, 16:20

Oh, no, he didn't sing it in the classroom.
Some people are just plain weird.

Mona 25. June 2008, 19:08

But that was his personal page, right? What does it have in common with his teaching?
So, if I'm a teacher I can't listen to 'Fuck her gently' by Tenacious D? Why? Does it determine my teaching skills?

Some people are more saint than the saints themselves, really. Pfff...
it's like 'be a teacher and limit your private life'. Shall I listen to national anthem only?

Attila 25. June 2008, 19:32

Yep, that was his personal page. If you read my post again, you can see that I don't take side in the actual case. I state my opinion about the song only.

I get your point though.

Mona 25. June 2008, 19:56

I'm very partial because I'm a teacher and sorry if you understood my post as offensive, I didn't mean to, but I'm annoyed by the people like the principal who fired the teacher. Oh come on :/

Cois 25. June 2008, 20:31

By putting something online for the whole world to scrutinise you'll find people take you at face value..
Hence if I had porn or crap like that I'd be seen as some pervert getting his jollies from naked women..
When the teacher decided to put it up for the world to see no-one asked the reason but took it as a person who works with young children with obvious sexual fantasies..
Parents get a whiff of that then they wouldn't want their kids around such a person.. Simple as..

Mona 25. June 2008, 20:35

1. It's just a nasty song, not p0rn.
2. Let's first demand from parents, not from teachers, really - if children surf the net in search for p0rn, it's not teachers' fault.

I don't say the teacher did something great, but people are only people and don't judge others if you don't want to be easily judged...

Attila 25. June 2008, 20:37

It's an interesting discussion. Where are the limits?

I know we had the discussions here in Denmark about politically active teachers, that tought the kids only their political point of view. As far as I remember one of them got fired too. I know it's not comparable, but anyway.

Mona 25. June 2008, 20:48

It's not comparable, because a teacher cannot even present his political/religious/whatever attitudes. If he does, he should be punished.

Private webpage is different... or maybe in Denmark you don't have freedom of speech  (joking, sry)

I understand the principal, however, because parents tend to exaggerate the role of school in their children's upbringing yet, at the same time, they themselves don't pay attention to their own children.
It's easier to demand from others than from oneself.

I'm not defending the teacher, however I strongly disagree with contempting him.

Cois 25. June 2008, 20:57

I meant porn as an example only..
It could've been that the teacher proclaimed he's got something for satanism.. Nothing wrong with it in my eyes but parents are another matter..
The guy got fired because parents wouldn't want such a person around and the principal was forced to comply..
Hey.. I could be wrong in my way of thinking but by putting myself in the place of parents I can understand why the guy got fired..

Mona 25. June 2008, 21:12

That's what I say: demand from oneself.
I don't understand parents like that, really, especially in this case (since it wasn't even p0rn). Take TV ads - they're brainwashing their kids and parents don't give a damn, do they? Obviously, it's easier to demand from a teacher, but come on...

Now, I could understand all this fuss if it was about porn or violence or something serious, but it was just a song! Jesus :/

The thing parents have problems with realizing is that school is not responsible for the upbringing. Education is education, parenhood is far more responsible :/

theoddbod 25. June 2008, 21:57

Well, it's definitely worse than this, and I thought they were pretty bad.

A career in modern art beckons. He just needs to learn to write the lyrics in a bodily secretion and give a couple of deranged-sounding interviews.

I hope he wasn't teaching Music, Creative Writing or anything like that :eyes:.

Ripp 26. June 2008, 00:05

Id10t comes to mind

Rick 26. June 2008, 04:24

Well, you can defend freedom of speech all you want. The issue here is not whether it is porn or offensive, the guy just sucks at writing. You might conclude he is not a very talented teacher. :sing:

Mona 26. June 2008, 06:53

Oh yes, that's beyond question
But if we had only talented teachers, heh, well, we wouldn't be much educated

Kimberly 14. July 2008, 20:11

very verbal in its context....good reason to be fired
