Is your vision of making money blogging slowly turning into a mirage? If so, your predicament is not so strange, as the broad majority of bloggers with the aim of getting paid to blog, undergo the same discontentment and aggravation.

You have probably read about 4-5 figure bloggers and how they have the ability to earn money blogging by simply posting an article or two of content to their blogs each day.

Or, how advertisers congregate to these blogs to make profits on targeted potential customers and pay these blog owners enormous fees just to post banner ads or text links. And, for a very small minority of bloggers, it is a fact. This small group of influential bloggers earns six figures a year, some much more from blogging.

However the blogosphere is filled with failing bloggers, many who quit shortly after launching their initial blog.

Why do they bail so soon?

Most bloggers interested in earning money online quit because they can't earn any money!

Listen to this short story. Its relevance will become apparent shortly. Before becoming a full-time Internet Marketing, I spent nearly 20 years recruiting and training commissioned sales people.

One of the basic lessons I learned as a Sales Manager, was that I had to get new sales people making money ASAP.

You see, folks who enter commissioned sales are lured by the opportunity of huge paydays.

However, most fledgling sales people have no idea of what it takes to generate a continuous stream of commissions. Our promise to our new sales people was that if they followed our process, they could potentially earn about $50,000 commission their first year. My job was to teach these new people how to get paid fast.

Over the years, I discovered that there is nothing like boosting retention than getting new sales people a few fat paychecks under their belt.

Our system was elementary, but time-tested and proven to produce results.

All it required was for a sales person to set 10 appointments every week with a well-fitted prospect. By well-fitted, I mean the prospect had to have the following 3 things:

1. A need for the product.
2. The ability to pay for product.
3. And that they could be seen when it was favorable to hear the presentation.

Now the average sales person only sees 5 people a week. But here are the metrics...

The average commission per sale was $300. So they could earn about $1000 a week following this formula.

But here is what happened 90% of the time, and the reason so many people fail at sales.

Most did not set the required 10 appointments per week. Of course they had assorted excuses as to why they could get their 10 appointments. (Hey, we didn't say it would be easy, but doable!)

Therefore, they failed to make 5 presentations to 5 qualified prospects, and in the end, they had "0" sales.

Now this scenario can be easily associated with most bloggers looking to profit with blogs. You see,

1. Most do not have a plan.
2. And those that have a plan fail to stick to it long enough to see results!

Having a plan or blueprint for success guarantees your efforts will not be wasted.

Blogging for profits is not rocket science but there are proven methods for achieving success. For starters, you have to:

1. Find a niche of people with problems who are willing to pay for solultions
2. Find a product that provides solutions and that is proven to convert.
3. Post relevant content often to keep your readers interest and to drive traffic.
4. Market your blog... The adage "if you build it they will come," only exists in the movies.
5. Stick to it. It's pure folly that you'll be able to earn 4-5 figures overnight!
6. Track everything you do. It's the only way to know what works and what doesn't.
7. Once you start seeing results, scale up the process.

I know, you may be a bit intimidated. But the truth is, you can do it. Just jot down what you want to accomplish and work backwards filling in the detailed steps need to make it happen.

You can create profitable blogs for zero cost (well it will cost you time and effort - trial and error).

Or you can reduced the learning curve by copying a proven system. Furthermore, you can save loads of time by automating some or all of the processes.

This does a couple of things. It will let you determine much more quickly if the niche you've chosen is profitable and, if it is, you can scale up for real profits extremely fast.
