Local Television Tower Collapses
Saturday, 12. January 2008, 07:42:53
This occured on Jan. 11th at approximately 12:46pm. One of my family members had mentioned to me that channel 7 the local ABC affiliate had gone off the air as well as the local PBS station, but I hadn't given it any more thought until I saw this on the web. This 2033ft. tower was located only 10-12 miles north of me. Here is a link to the official news story as covered by one of the local independent broadcasters. http://www.cwarkansas.com/news/local/story.aspx?content_id=de8ac5eb-a5a6-40b9-aeb6-7e924c93f618

On the other hand it was pretty much jury-rigged by a bunch of well meaning amateurs and still withstood everything the North Sea could throw at it. There must be a moral there...
