My dog
For me,it's my first Hunting dog and i must say lots of fun with her. Great will to please, nice to most other dogs but furious about cats and predators. She killed some predators by catching them and that's making her bite hard when retrieving shot game when it's still alive. When it's dead she feels it and brings it back gently. But beware if it's alive. I don't know how to correct it, i asume this is just her instinct = it's alive, it must be killed and taking the live predators won't do good either.
But overall, a nice dog for me, even outside the season i have lot's of fun of this dog. Hunting season lasts only for 3 month's, so you need to work out the other 9 months together with your dog.
You don't get a dog only for the hunting season and put away the rest of the year.
