sparrow hawk

I saw a sparrow hawk taking down a partridge, when the kill was done i took my binoculairs so i could watch it up close, but my hand move scared the sparrow hawk and he left without the partridge. I prefer that the sparrow hawk would take something else like crows or woodpigeons but they are probably harder to take than a partridge due to less cover on the naked fields. The partridges are still here in this area cause of their status of hunting bird. If we hunters don't take care of these birds they will be exterminate here cause they can't find food on this monocultured land , shelter and most of all big pressure from predators. If they aren't on the hunting list they would vanish here. I don't bother if there are some spiecies been taken by birds of prey, thats nature, it happend long before we came here, but when te balance is hanging over to one side, we should take some action to preserve this magnificent bird .
