Myxomatosis

Myxomatosis is early this year. I went for a walk with my dog and she pointed to me = there's something.

I silently came by her and i see this 3/4 rabbit seeking shelter under a bush. I didn't let the dog take her because i then didn't known if the rabbit was sick or not, so i took my dog away preventing her taking the rabbit.
I saw the red , swollen eyes and i knew immediately what it was : Myxomatosis.

I took the already blind rabbit and helped him ( or her ) out of her suffering.

Underneath is a picture of the swollen eyes with the pus comin' out.

And they don't take only the weeds in your garden. Here are a lot of rabbits now, but in a month or 2, there are only a few left. Mainly Myxomatosis is to blame, the foxes , pochers and then harvesting of the corn, many disappear in the big machines.
Rabbits have to fight to survive, those who survive the winter are the healty ones, i hope they can breed some more cause i like them, in the field and in the cooking pot :chef:
