Words were floating on the breeze...

and I caught some to put here!!!

Take Care of Yourself

It's December!

The month of Christmas! Yay!! :hat:

But before you get into this spirit, you may remember that today, December 1st, is the World Day to Fight AIDS

If you never did a test of Aids, you must do. It's simple and the results don't last too much. It's better know now, than some time after when you have less chances to have a healthy life.

I know people with Aids. And they take medicine. And live very well.

I did a test some years ago. I was afraid of course. Specially because it was just after I broke with a boyfriend that I discover he was bisexual and as I did know he could do whatever he wanted to, I could be infected. But fortunately, my guardian's angel was stronger and here am I, safe!

If you live a life full of risk, do it. Or if you have a boy/ girlfriend you don't trust (first, let him/ her go), do it. Or if you do drugs, do it.

I wish everyone could have the courage to do this, but I wish much more that evryone could have the courage to use at least, condoms.

It's the first thing someone should think. It's the first think you should think.

Think and act.

I got a test once, but only because I thought it was something people were supposed to do before they got married (I have no idea where I got that idea from, though). It was amazingly comprehensive ... I found out that not only did I not have any trace of HIV, I had no trace of hepatitis A, B or C, and even syphilis (I had no idea that even existed anymore)! All I went in for was a 'general blood test' and I came out with an entire lab-full of results I didn't expect!

uttopia 2. December 2008, 11:15

It is hard to contract any of those if you are celibate, clean! haha

was tested also when I had to upgrade my life insurance...
it is a must before they agree to insure you for a great amount of money...
it is great to know you are one of the healthy ones, just lets use our blessing to help others that are not!!

ellinidata 2. December 2008, 20:02

David you are the silliest healthy man ever! p:

b_laudanum 2. December 2008, 21:37

thank you Angeliki for coming to my blog! I know you're doing your part too! You know what? I have Positive HIV in my family and was very difficult in the beggining to accept this new. But with time, this person got courage to fight the ill and now it's very fine!

David, this kind of 'exams' are nice to do because shows that you really love the person you are about to marry with. Not just this exam but others, and to know if you're healthy enough to build a family. great from you! and great to your wife! :D

Every woman must do exams every year. And I'm a bit 'mad' about it. I do every year and I used to did again when I ended to some boyfriend! p: I don't know, but it was my way to confirm that I was 'totally fine'

ellinidata 2. December 2008, 22:47

Bea
I volunteer at "soup kitchens" (a place where poor and sick can eat),
I talk to many infected with HIV and they have the most positive attitude you can find! I encourage all to volunteer a couple of hours a month, the rewards are enormous...

my best wishes to your relative

b_laudanum 2. December 2008, 23:57

That's super!!

Me and my mom we always donate things to poor people, specially when some tragedy occurs. Last month in my neighborhood, a big fire happened and destroyed many houses. The families lost all they had.
I donated clothes and my mom some furniture like beds and mattresses. We always do what we can and it's great to do that.

Thank you for the 'best wishes' I guess he's fine now! (as soon as he can)

uttopia 3. December 2008, 04:27

There were a few furniture items and kitchen stuff left by the renters in St. Augustine. We set them out by the curb and we no more than got inside and looked out the window and they had vanished. I know this does not count as donation. But it shows that there are unfortunates right close to us! I do this quite often here at home --- things that are damaged or even broken and most are picked up within a day or so!

b_laudanum 3. December 2008, 14:10
