Words were floating on the breeze...

and I caught some to put here!!!

I hate cleaning!

One of my biggest sins is that I completely hate cleaning the house. :knight:

OMG! Ask me to do anything, but don't ask me to clean the house, no matter what will be.

Since yesterday I'm doing small things (different from what I do everyday that is cooking and put/take the table 3 times a day) and I was thinking with myself "why the hell I hate so much this?"... and thinking about the answer I can say that is because I feel completely frustrated cleaning.

Yes, frustrated. :o:

Why?

Because I never get a clean house the way I want. I clean and clean and my apartment is so full of dust that if I clean it now, 10 minutes after it's full again. That's because I live in a big avenue and it's always so busy, lots of cars, buses, trucks... :ko:

So, my apartment (incredibly it's not so noisy) is almost impossible to be really cleaned, I mean, 100% cleaned everyday. And I HATE it!!! :irked:

I'm so obsessed about it that I even quit of it. Yes, I'm tired of being all day long cleaning here, there, over there... and I quit!

I never was the kind of girl/woman that liked the housing stuff (unless cooking, that is my passion) and so, why would I like it now just because I'm a housing person (almost) full time now??

This really annoys me!

How is that in your house? Is your house so difficult to clean (and to maintain) like mine? Why can't I keep the house the way I'd love to?

Ask any kid under 5. Cleaning is not a natural function. Pity about your flat. Sounds like you would like it more in a shady meadow where willows grow and swans glide on the pond

Carol 27. May 2009, 13:08

I know what you mean Bea. It's frustrating.

☜☞Sarah☜☞ 27. May 2009, 13:20

Bea, It's so true. The cleaning is never finished...ever. My laundry is never done. The girls feel like they have to change clothes all the time.
This house that I am in now (for 7 years) is the dustiest house I have ever lived in. We can dust every week and still...the dust returns. :eyes: It's creepy.

Karen 27. May 2009, 16:48

I live in a really quiet neighborhood on a quiet street & we hardly ever get traffic other than the neighbors. Dust is certainly not a problem for me. I dust once per week & that seems to be perfect.

I love to clean, though. I have OCD, so yeah...I'm always cleaning something. My house is like a freakin' museum half the time. It'd be nice to be able to just stop and not clean for like a day or two.

I'm sorry, though, that you're so frustrated. I can imagine that'd frustrate the Hell out of me, too! :frown:

Angeliki 27. May 2009, 22:17

Bea

we can become the perfect roommates
I will do the cleaning (yes, i am a clean freak) and you will do the cooking !

*hugs*

Bea 27. May 2009, 22:17

Hello pals! I'm glad you commented on my... well... frustrated post.
Isn't it bad that as I'm not a fan of cleaning still have to deal with the fact that my house sucks about the dust problem??
Yeah, I know...
Well but I really wish this year can pass very fast cuz next year we'll change our neighborhood, and I really hope it'll be better!

Sarah, I'm sorry for you. I know the feeling.

Karen, I hate you! I envy you! p:

Carol, thanks for supporting my cause! :D

Johanno, what I really want is a house full of maids just for me!!

Angeliki 27. May 2009, 22:18

:eyes: see our two entries!!! perfect number ,no ???

Angeliki 27. May 2009, 22:19

17:17 ! we might play lotto on the top of becoming roommates

David 28. May 2009, 00:23

Hi Bea,
I feel the same way you do. Fortunately, my wife is a cleaning fiend---you could eat off of the floors!

Karen 28. May 2009, 02:58

Bea! I hate me, too! We have something in common!

David Scott Aubrey 28. May 2009, 09:46

You could always completely seal up the doors and windows with thick black tape; keeps some of the noise out and no more soot coming in from passing cars!

Bea 28. May 2009, 11:08

 Angeliki! You're right!! Hey did you know that I always get right informations before it happens? I always say that I should play lotto too, cuz I really hit things! :D

Hi Dave,
I wish my husband could help more sometimes. But poor Francis. He works so much that I feel guilty when he helps...
My wish list of birthday this year is a vacuum!!!!

 Karen!!!

Hey David, how are you?
You know what? I have a balcony on my daughter's room and I almost never open its door. Because of the noise and the dust. My window's room I never open. I have just another window on the living room that I always keep opened because you know, we need some fresh air sometimes... but even keeping the biggest door and windows closed, dust are always here...
Noise is not a problem. But I really feel angry about dirt...
And I have such a beautiful view in my daughter's room. A lot of mango trees on the other side of the street.
Every morning when the sun is rising, the mango trees be so colored! It's nice!

David Scott Aubrey 28. May 2009, 11:44

Sounds like a nice way to start the day is to go in there and enjoy the morning for a while before you get to work.

Bea 28. May 2009, 15:56

Yes, it is!! I like hearing the sound of the wind in their leaves! It's so peaceful!!!

☜☞Sarah☜☞ 28. May 2009, 16:07

Carol 28. May 2009, 16:23

You are welcome Bea. :D
I wish my house stayed dusted for a week after I dust. Have a over 30 year old furnace and after I dust the dust comes back within a couple of hours. :irked: at dust.

Bea 28. May 2009, 19:21

Sarah

Carol, today I washed the balcony, I washed the curtains, I cleaned the stove and took off the dust in the whole house. Wow, so many things! :ko:
Afeter some minutes, I looked over the TV case and I totally freaked :yikes: there were dust again... :irked:

Carol 28. May 2009, 21:28

Nicolas Borgsmidt 30. May 2009, 13:54

Everytime I think my appartment is to small, I suddenly remind myself of the difficulties and strain to clean a bigger place and all of a sudden I just love my small box :D

Bea 30. May 2009, 19:20

that's the only advantage of having a small place to live!

Nicolas Borgsmidt 31. May 2009, 00:26

well..I like the simple living now. And it doesn´t feel claustrofobic now when it is sunny and warm outside. I can go out whenever I want

Bea 31. May 2009, 17:21

living simple but comfortable is everything we need!

Nicolas Borgsmidt 31. May 2009, 18:44

Yes! I find happiness in the smallest things at the moment.

Bea 31. May 2009, 19:36

Nicolas Borgsmidt 31. May 2009, 22:29

:hat: :jester: Sorry uncontrolled happiness

daxonmacs 1. June 2009, 11:02

Hey I can relate to that.
I live at a busy street and it's unbelievable how much dust bricks and concrete produce .
Though I'm not fond of cleaning myself, I like a clean place.
I gave up on the idea to have it spotless, since I have two little helpers, that will show me exactly where it "was" clean, haha.
Once I get started though, I usually am satisfied I did some cleaning, the result, however brief it lasts, is rewarding.
So get yer ass out of the couch, mom :D

Oh yeah, I got myself an air purifier, which prolongs " dust free " periods.

Bea 1. June 2009, 11:42

:lol::lol: great Nic!!! :yes:

Dax  "get your ass out of the couch?" I'm a mom, did you forget that? I'm always with my ass standing some place and doing something!
What I always said is that my dream is buy some vacuum. Cuz here I clean the house with the old and same style: sweeping and using floor cloth, which make my back destroyed!
That's why I hate so much! Oh, and the bathroom... yes, I hate it too. Though I use some cleaners to do it, I still have to wash the walls... It's too much to a lonely person! p:

daxonmacs 1. June 2009, 11:51

Oh I knwow, though I have seen different moms
I dream of living near the sea, more sand, but less dust haha.
I keep my place simple, not too much decoration, or dust collectors, as I call it.
The cleaning thus goes fast and swiftly.
Like you, I don't have a vacuum cleaner, but I also don't have any rugs here, so it's cool.

Nice try, but I won't come helping with the walls though p:

Bea 1. June 2009, 12:28

 what? :eyes:

won't come? :irked: I was thinking to pay you with a cup of tea and a carrot cake!!!

p:

I don't have rugs as well, but I need curtains. They block the noise and my apartment is just on the west side, where the afternoon sun is, and as here is SO hot and the sun burns our skin, we need curtains a lot!

I try to not have many things at home too, but you know... kids! My daughter has many of them, even myself cleaning so many times and taking some toys to donate... she still have a lot!
I guess her room is the worst place in the whole house!

daxonmacs 1. June 2009, 12:41

Don't tell me!! I know !!!
I have two of them hahaha.

Bea 1. June 2009, 13:28

 :faint:

Steven 6. June 2009, 12:28

 I think the dust in Brazilian appartments has something to do with the air conditioning units...seems to charge the dust or so, so that it sticks everywhere...

Have to confess my Rio appartment came with a weekly cleaning lady included in the rent

Our house is an old wooden one with no airconditioning. So in summer, we always open the windows and it gets very dusty.

In our home, cleaning is a chore for the whole family in the weekend. Unfortunately, three lazy teenagers means that Kate and I use as much energy nagging the kids to keep them working as we do cleaning. Honestly, the two of us could do all the work ourselves quicker than it takes five of us to do when the kids are given chores. So frustrating.

studio41 8. July 2009, 02:57

cleaning is a pain to me, too-- didn't used to be so bad, but now most efforts are undone immediately :frown: cooking is more a passion, definitely!
