Global Crisis - Part I

, ,

I read this article at Folha.com.br and wanted to talk about this crisis that is getting the whole world.

Since this freaky crisis started, our dear President Lula have been saying that this crisis will not affect Brazil and its people. He always says this.

But... all we know, we, people like me and you, regular people, is that we are all involved in some way. And I explain that!

In my city, we have a huge region full of factories. Most of them are multinationals, like Honda, Yamaha, Pionner, Whirlpool and many, many others. In our Zona Franca (how is called) there are many brazilian factories also, but who have worked sometime in their lives in some company may know that a factory, a company, needs materials (raw material) and equipments (machines) to work. This is very basic to understand what I wanna mean.
Many of those materials and equipments are imported from US, England, Germany and other countries. So, if the crisis is getting the whole world and the purchases and sales are made in dollars and euros, how these factories can continue fine if they have investiments from their head offcies too and need to sale very much to have money and buy them again to keep working?

For this reason, many factories I know started to fire people.

In this month, happened an increasing of 132% in laying employees off in relation with the same period in the last year. In the company Francis works, they started to fire people last week. A friend of us that is chief there too, last Saturday was making a 'list' of the people who will gonna loose their jobs this week. A friend of mine who works in another company told me that more than 150 people were fired last month. Another friend lost her job last month, in a new factory of motorcycles that opened its doors this year, and with her, more than 450 people lost their jobs too.

So... dear President, do you still think the crisis won't affect Brazilians? Isn't it immoral to keep deceiving people while the 'real life' is much more horrable and worrying?

So... dear President, give me a break!!

Give us a break!!

Take Care of Yourself

It's December!

The month of Christmas! Yay!! :hat:

But before you get into this spirit, you may remember that today, December 1st, is the World Day to Fight AIDS

If you never did a test of Aids, you must do. It's simple and the results don't last too much. It's better know now, than some time after when you have less chances to have a healthy life.

I know people with Aids. And they take medicine. And live very well.

I did a test some years ago. I was afraid of course. Specially because it was just after I broke with a boyfriend that I discover he was bisexual and as I did know he could do whatever he wanted to, I could be infected. But fortunately, my guardian's angel was stronger and here am I, safe!

If you live a life full of risk, do it. Or if you have a boy/ girlfriend you don't trust (first, let him/ her go), do it. Or if you do drugs, do it.

I wish everyone could have the courage to do this, but I wish much more that evryone could have the courage to use at least, condoms.

It's the first thing someone should think. It's the first think you should think.

Think and act.

November deserves at least one post, doesn't it?

Hello my friends!!

I was out for a while, it's truth. But you do know also that I was always here and there (as a spy, like David said), reading your pms and answering them, taking a look at your posts (some of them) and commenting (some of them).

In my last post I said that I was needing some time for myself, to make my projects 'out of paper' and so I did. And I don't feel sorry for that. On the contrary, I just got good things and more time for me and my family.

I don't have so much news to tell, (I didn't get that job I was looking for, yet! I didn't get the answer yet and I'm afraid it'll last more than it is because of the global crisis) but I just wanted to say hi

See you around!

I beg your pardom

, ,

I'm sorry but I've been out of Opera in the last weeks. For the last month I've been just commenting on your blogs and rarely did a post at mine.
I guess I need a break.
I'm just in a phase of my life that I need to focus on things in my real life, if you know what I mean. No offense, please. But I'm planning many things to my career and I'm doing some already and I need time to take care of the house and do what I need to do, and you know, internet addiction is complicated most of the time.
I'm going to reduce my time online here and on everything that keeps me apart of my main objectives, so, certainly you'll not see me again for a long time. I'm sorry, but sometimes life needs some sacrifices and efforts.
And I'm doing this now.
Thank you for the memorable moments you gave me reading your posts or just reading at mine and giving me answers and your point of view.
For now on, I'll keep in touch just by pms. Love you all

Now I feel

,

able to talk about it.

If there is something that really piss me off is when people have pets and don't take care of them well. Or worse, when people have pets and in a time, they simply don't want them anymore and abandon them in the streets.

My father has a huge yard and he likes very much to make things in there. He has a garage where he keeps stuff for carpentry and many more (garbage) he wants to keep. So, some time ago, my parents noticed that rats were appearing every night and they were invading the house. My father put rat poison and some traps but it didn't work. Rats are very smart!

So, my mother started to ask me to get her a cat. She wanted a cat even don't liking pets. My mother is a strange person. She doesn't like any kind of animal. She doesn't care. And when she asked me for a cat I told her "will you do at the same last times when you abandoned the cats when you didn't want them anymore?" and she said "no, this time is different, I really want a cat!! I'm tired of those rats and we need a cat! we really need a cat!"...

And I... really doubting of her intentions, asked once more: "are you sure? Because I don't wanna hear you comaplaining about the smell of s*** and pee!!" and she just answer "I'm really sure! I want a cat no matter what it needs!"

Ok, so a friend of mine gave me a cat and you still know him. I got an album with photos from Nescau! Remember him? He was always theme for my posts! And he got our home and was so cute! One year passed and Nescau grew up. He was not cute anymore and he started to make bad things (in my mother's opinion)... and she started to complain about him.

I said "Are you already complaining?" and she tried to explain that she had to wash the kitchen everyday and she had to clean the whole house everyday cos he was make pee in the whole house. And I said that maybe he was stressed and maybe another cat from the neighbourhood would come and fighting with him. He would be afraid and would be just at home cos he didn't want to get out to the yard at night. And for some days we watched him and realized that this was the reason. There was another cat (much bigger than Nescau) and this cat was making Nescau afraid, and so he just wanted to stay inside the house.

But my mother was tired of and asked to leave Nescau away. And I said "what? Are you asking me AGAIN to abandon one more cat? You wanted a cat to solve your problem and now you don't want hi anymore. That's simple huh?"

I got really pissed with this! I don't agree with this. If you have a pet you have to take care of it. Otherwise, don't have one!!!! Pets are like kids, they need attention and caring (of course not so much as a child, but they need) and if you're not able to deal with it, don't do!!

I really thought about take Nescau to my apartment, but the problem was 'where he could be?'. My apartment is really small and we couldn't have space to put his bed, his food and water... So, we couldn't stay with him. I was really worried about it and my daughter was suffering with this problem.

My mom asked Francis to take Nescau away and Francis as a great son-in-law as he can be, he did it! My daughter cried a lot. My mother said "I don't know why she's crying" and I said "Because she's a child, she liked him and she has a heart!!!"... my mother shuted her mouth.

Francis took Nescau in the car and let him in his old address, where Francis used to live, because there someone could take care of him and could feed him, at least. Here we don't have those adoption houses where you can adopt dogs and cats or leave some. So, if you want to abandon your pet, you have to leave it in the streets. At least, Francis took Nescau to a place that someone can take care and he was not in the streets, but in a private condominium.

I didn't agree with that, but it could be worse. Passed few days and seeing that me and Juju were sad about what happened, Francis felt guilty and tried to find Nescau there, to take him back home and take care of him at our apartment. I was really excited with the idea. We could work on it, and try to get some place to Nescau (under my bed?) but when he went to the condo, he didn't find Nescau anymore.

I really hope he's fine and really hope someone took him home. I was sad with that. And told my mom that I'll never, never, take some pet to her again! Never!

:frown:

Wish me luck!

Filosofia Barata

, ,

Vários deles inclusive, e é tudo a mesma coisa. A mesma mamata.
