Farol da Barra

, ,

The day after, we rented a car and so we could go everywhere!

One of them was the Barra's Lighthouse, well known in the carnival where the streets be so full of people around this place.

There is a museum inside, called Museu Náutico (sailing museum) and we saw amazing things. This lighthouse was the first fort built in Brazil and it happened in 1534. I didn't upload the images from the museum itself, cos I want to do it in a separated album. I think I'll make it today.

2 day - Salvador

, ,

Ok, let's continue the trip.

The 2nd day we went to the Project Tamar. It's a brazilian project that protects the marine turtles over the brazilian coast. It's very interesting and cool. We enjoyed so much even the weather wasn't good that day.

See the photos:

We saw sharks, starfishes, many kind of turtles, fishes and stingrays (I don't know if the right name is this). You can see more in the album

My first video :)

, ,

I never did a video before and in Salvador I tried to do one. It was inside the San Francisco's church. The one who has more then 1 ton of gold in its walls... :left:

I took many pictures but to see how it is indeed, just a video could show. Hope you enjoy and forgive the mistakes of a beginner! :D

My trip to Salvador

, ,

Hello my good people! How are you? Hope you all have had good times.

I had a wonderful week, travelling, visiting many places and enjoying beaches, historical places, the family together!

Very nice indeed!

I have to make small posts because there is a lot of nice places and histories to tell!

Do you want to follow me in this trip? Nice! Let's go start then!

We travelled last August 15th. We got there at night, almost 11 pm and we were so tired that we didn't want to get out of the hotel. The other day, Sunday, sun was shinning and the day was great! We so, thought about going out and meet the city.

I have to say that Salvador was the first city created in Brazil. The year? Formally 1549, but people used to live there like a village since the portuguese came to Brazil. So, you can imagine how much History this city has.

The first place we went, of course, was a small beach near our hotel. Very small, but cozy. We went there just to take pictures. Because of the rocks, we couldn't have shower there. Salvador, has in all its shore bigs rocks. And because of this, many ships wrecked in this city. The most famous castaway known is a portuguese called Diogo Álvares. He was almost 'eaten' by the indians, but fortunately he had a gun (and of course the indians have never seen that) and when he shooted, the indians got afraid and so he escaped. After some time, he married with Catarina Paraguaçu, a local beautiful indian.

The funny is that the district where we were in the hotel is right in the place Diogo Álvares arrived in his ship. Today this district is called Rio Vermelho (Red River) and we saw the beach where "Caramuru" was found!

Well, let's see some pictures:

On Sunday, we went to visit Pelourinho. A historical place where the slaves lived and in a public square they were punished in order to 'be an example' to the others. Until now, there are many houses and the place is very old. You can smell history, pain, suffering there.
There is a big square where to the left, you can walk and see many museums, restaurantes, stores. To the right, it's not allowed to walk. It's dangerous. The most poor people live there and most of them are the grandsons of the slaves, they don't like tourists walking freely. Maybe because it's still a big injury to this people.

We visited some churches, we walked through the small streets and then we went to another part of downtown. The Elevador Lacerda. It was built by a rich farmer, owner of many slaves and he was the onwer of this whole area. As it had a big mount he needed to make something to ease the transport of his cargos. Of course, at time, the government bought it and made an 'upgrade'.

We visited the local market too, but it was not a nice area to see. Not to us. Many 'scary' people. You know. Downtown is downtown everywhere. Port area is the same everywhere, in other words, you know what I mean.

We came back to the hotel after a whole day walking, visiting and taking pictures. I uploaded a whole album of our trip and if you want you can take a look there here

Hope you have fun!

1 year of marriage, father's day and few days to travel

, , ,

Hi all!!

Yesterday was a very special day to me and my hubbie. We celebrated 1 year of marriage. :hat: :drunk:

I know it seems early or few time, but to us, specially to me, it's really important. I have only to celebrate and thank God for the amazing things that happened to my life in the last 5 years. I'm so blessed and happy.

Yesterday was also the Father's Day in Brazil and all my family were together, celebrating and eating and sharing love to each other. We also got a champagne from my sister and his husband, we make a toast and my hubbie did a speech! :D Was so charming!

We're very happy and counting days down 'cos next Saturday we're travelling to Salvador, our 1 year gift

Can't wait to travel, to see the beaches there, visit old museums and churches (Salvador was the first capital of Brazil, until 1808) I'm so excited!

See you when I'm back and with lots of photos and news to tell

Take care you all!!

Just brief lines

Hi everybody!

It's been some time since the last I was here. In fact, I'm just passing to drive the flies away from my blog :D

I'm studying hard, working hard, had some health problems but now I'm fine (who follows me on Facebook knows that) and... that's it.

Oh, next month I'm going to travel. Vacation! Yay!! I'm going to Salvador, a great city (the first capital of Brazil) full of History (and I love that) in the Northeast of Brazil.

I always wanted to go there and now I'm going to fulfill my dream!

Take care you all, I'll be back with more news soon!

Part 3 - The trip back

:frown: Last day on the beach... last day in Itanhaém... last in São Paulo...

I woke up very early, cos I was planning go to hte beach for the last few hours we had. Woke up at 6 am and went, me and Keroseni, to the beach...

I should take the cam, but I didnt. Never will forget that sun. That beach, with just us, and two old men fishing...

Nice water. Warm and calm...

We stayed till 8 am and went take breakfast. For our surprise, people in the house wanted to go to the beach for the last time too, so, we went again!!! :D

Was fine! Though I was sad...

About 3 pm we were leaving Itanhaém. In this time, Keroseni was driving and so I was very better than we arrived...

The road is simply beautiful. Lots of mountains!

In this pic we can see a small ville (on the left) in the middle of this mountain. Very nice!

We took one hour to arrive São Paulo. Our flight was at 10pm and we had some few hours to eat the falous pizza from São Paulo!!!

I visited keroseni's aunt store. A kind of religious stuff store (brazilian stuff) and interesting. Once more I forgot my cam :irked:

Before going to the airport, keroseni's uncle took us to have a big view of the city, passing by some buildings and storical places. São Paulo is great indeed!

I was sad because we didnt have time to see it better, but next time, I'll do!

Arriving in the airport, we had to wait more than one hour. The flight was late! :furious:

But when finally we got into the plane, sadness took part of me...
