class, random skit, school, marcus
For my new existance as a commuting student I purchased some fun stuff. I'm kind of enjoying my school supplies way too much, and I'm going to share them here. The pictures are from my cell phone because my sister is still in Europe, still closer to my Marcus than me, and of course, still in possession of my camera.
I don't have to buy the overpriced meal plan so instead I'm planning on bringing my own lunch. Hence the super-cool pink bag. with the cool clear window so I can keep an eye on things.
The cuppy thing is for breakfast. I have a 9am class in Louisville, 45 minutes away without adding in morning traffic and I don't do mornings. I need this class and this is the only time it is offered, so I'm planning ahead.
This is so much fun. It screws apart and each half opens up. The bottom part has fun pink freezy stuff that keeps your milk cold. the cereal goes into the top and there's even a little spoon that clips into the lid.
Kind of sad that I find such small things amusing, but its the little things that count, small victories
The small victories should help me be frugal and healthy. I don't want to pay too much for muffins or donuts or the breakfast bar that all have too many calories and very little nutrition. Hopefully, the cost will add up and I'll make it to Marcus.
As for coffee, I plan to make it at home or use these handy dandy instant coffee 'tea'bags, the vanilla iced coffees will be a test to resist, but as I'm usually late anywhere I go, making it to class by 9 is enough of a challenge, not to mention getting to campus early enough to visit the cafe. So I believe I'm safe and that much closer to a plane ticket to Sweden.

yarn, annoying boys, class, random skit
When boys ask pointless and annoying questions that have nothing to do with the class lecture or material for the class but something random and obscure to prove how very intelligent they are.
I love it.
It gives me a chance to work on my minesweeping skills and to peruse online yarn sales. FYI yarnware.com is having a going out of business 50-75 percent off sale. Discovered this in Religion in the Public Square class today.

summer, plans, grown up, high school
...
It is very solidly summer now. My spring semester ended in mid-May. I took a summer class which I'm not quite finished with the homework for, but there's time left for that.
I spent 4 hellish days as a chaperone for my younger sister's high school show choir trip to St. Louis, Missouri. It was fun to be with my sister and the kids in her choir are a lot of fun. The 'real' adults made the trip frustrating. I look younger than I am and I spent most of the time with my sister so although I've been out of high school for six years that negated my status as a 'real' adult or so I was told. Oh well. I had fun, despite childishly wanting to scream "Leave me alone I'm a grown up!!!" Even though high school educators do not see it, The bank, my university, and the Discover Card people all seem to know I'm a grown up although at times I wish they didn't!
I'm leaving later today for a music festival. It should be a lot of fun. I hope to take some pictures of the Kentucky countryside, study some Greek between bands and spend time with my family.
As for the rest of my summer . . .
in late July I'm taking another summer class and other than that I really don't know. I endeavor to spend some time with my grandparents who are failing and lend a hand to my Grandfather. My Grandmother has Alzheimers and it is hard on him to be the primary caretaker in his health. I love them both very much. I can't imagine my life without them and I dont' want to miss this chance.
I'm a little ashamed at all the days I've spent sleeping in and watching TV already. I am inspired by AzureTimm's post here as he is finishing high school and looking at things he wants to learn in the time before he starts further education. I'm going to try to come up with some goals in honor of Timm's graduation. but its 2:36 am so that's going to have to be continued . . .
