Java and Mac OSX: The right time, the right choice

Leopard, Mac, Java
As pointed to by
Bill Dudney, though that Apple has not released Java 6 with Leopard, they have improved Java 5 to a great extent. These improvements will no doubt also appear in Java 6. Apple has reimplemented the whole Aqua LnF, now it is possible to create Mac like widgets in different sizes and variants with client properties, and there is a ton of other improvements for Java 5 on Leopard.
Leopard still is no doubt a right choice for Java development. But as Java 6 adoption increases, presence of Java 6 is -- and going to be more crucial than ever before.

Behrang, how is your Java development going on your Mac? I'm a new Mac user and ramping up my OSX dev skills. I posted a survey on my blog, Swampcast, and I'd be interested to read how it's going for you.

I just noticed that I've got some new comments. Looks like the email notification is down or something. I participated in the survey the same day you published it.
I don't know what Opera Blogs is running on. Why do you think it is built on Perl? And yeah, it was time to change the theme. However it only required a few simple clicks. It is a genuine Opera theme ;-)
