Java and Mac OSX: The right time, the right choice

As pointed to by Bill Dudney, though that Apple has not released Java 6 with Leopard, they have improved Java 5 to a great extent. These improvements will no doubt also appear in Java 6. Apple has reimplemented the whole Aqua LnF, now it is possible to create Mac like widgets in different sizes and variants with client properties, and there is a ton of other improvements for Java 5 on Leopard.

Leopard still is no doubt a right choice for Java development. But as Java 6 adoption increases, presence of Java 6 is -- and going to be more crucial than ever before.
