qBittorrent is okayish torrent client

Continuing with my torrent client reviews, this time with another GPL'd open-source client called qBittorrent
. Made with Qt4 which provides easy portability & C++ code instead of sluggish Java-cancer and taking only 22MB of memory on startup, it also is almost on-par with features of µTorrent. I tested version 2.9.5 for Windows, and while initial reaction was positive, it soon became evident this client is not up to the task. First of all, it crashed twice within one hour when attempting to migrate torrents from µTorrent to qBittorrent by standard method, ie. using the same download directory & then simply clicking the torrent. Like stated in Vuze review
, the number one priority for torrent client is stability. The second problem with qBittorrent is UI: the developers decided to use light gray font on on torrent list. I also couldn't find any way to alter the toolbar buttons, which is surprising considering this is Qt4 based application, and KDE applications have near-infinite customisability when it comest to buttons. Verdict: 3/5Just like with KDE, stability is the one missing feature. Give this client a year or eight to mature.
