I am one those people who is just people who are just fanatics about learning. I have decided that one of my lifetime goals is to amass a huge personal library with thousands of books. I have got a ways to go I only have about 200 now. I love learning about history, languagues and science most of all. I tend to read a lot. LOL

I have always wanted to learn a second, third language. I think it's the coolest thing in the world to be able to speak more than one. Unfortunately I have this mental block which I can read and write better than I can speak. I know a lot of people have had this problem anyone have a way to get over it? I am currently trying to learn Russian and getting over my little block in Spanish. Oh well, wish me luck! If anyone has any suggestions about ways that help them learn a second language let me know!

Where do you plan to store all of those books? Maybe those e-book readers will take off and you can get digital copies.

I am self taught in German and Spanish. I went to the library and checked out tapes, cds, and books. I worked with them nearly every day. Spanish would probably be easy in that many cable and satellite providers offer programming in Spanish. I have a short wave radio so I can listen to German programming. The internet is a good place as well. As far as speaking you just have to try to match the tapes as best you can. If you can find a person who is a native speaker that would be a great help in working on your pronunciation.
