When framing out the bench, include a slight slope of about a half an inch for every foot allowing water to run off. Always remember to deduct the plywood thickness used for the bench top. In this case it is inch. Also, deduct the half inch for the tile backboard. Make sure to use pressure treated wood to construct the bench box frame.

Next step is to construct the plywood frame over the bench. Fasten the plywood using the galvanized screws. When done up with the plywood installation, lay down the pan liner along the shower bottom. This is done similar to normal shower pan installation.

Do likewise for the top of the bench including another six inches on the walls above the bench in order to overlap the shower pan correctly. Do it in top to bottom direction.

Your next step is install backer boards just like what you did with the plywood, you put silicone on the backer boards too. Now you ready for tiling.
