Things that make me smile #4

While printing some 20 documents on my work's network printer, I opened the print queue to see if I'd really sent all documents properly. After about 5 documents, someone else - my boss presumably - put another document in the queue. The document was named xxxxxx xxxxxx resume.doc - for privacy reasons, I've left the name out.
Minor research from my side, proved this to be a resume from a woman in her late twenties. While I can appreciate an impressive resume, I can also appreciate the skill required to keep said document short and to the point. If I were recruiting someone, I would prefer people to tell me in half a page what they can say in half a page!
Whatever she has done in life, I can not for the life of me imagine a late twenty-year-old woman needing 43 pages to describe, short and to the point, all that she's done in life - even if she included her kindergarten diploma. Especially not someone applying for a job that is not going to pay her more than 500 Euro's a month.
If I had that kind of paperwork, I would be applying for something that paid a bit better!

And I still prefer the term CV - because it isn't French.
Ribbit.
