I think this says it all.

Borked databases?

, ,

Hmm... seems like the databases are borked over at the forums...

No posts by me? That's odd...

New posts not even showing up...

This is not good at all...

At least my blog appears to be working, except for one minor problem: the "forum" tag isn't showing up in my tag list, so I can't assign an image to it.

Oh... Emm... Gee...

Damn kids...

get off my lawn! (or, in this case, my laptop bag...)

OK, I'm at a friend's house, OK, and we're getting ready to leave. I have to quickly check something, so I set my bags (one has textbooks, the other has my laptop) down.

So, I turn to go away, and this little kid runs up and starts fucking kicking the laptop bag. My first instinct is to tear the little fucker to shreds, but I hold it back, and just yell at him. His dad, who was right there (but not looking at that moment), proceeds to chew him out as well, along with the friend of mine.

The story doesn't end there.

I go home, and plug in the laptop to check my e-mail and my forums before I go to bed. I fire it up. It comes up really... damn... slowly... Anyway, when I start Opera, I notice something... first, it's taking five minutes to start when it usually takes about 15 seconds, and second, it's making a noise like this: "grind click click click grind click click click grind click click click grind"

Anyway, I'm going to be ordering a new HDD from Newegg: Samsung Spinpoint M MP0402H

It's a 40GB 5400RPM laptop drive, versus the Hitachi 20GB 4200RPM that's in it now.

Well, I've got the new laptop...

,

...but it's a doorstop...

Basically, the network controller and modem are conflicting, and giving me this error:

ERROR
Resource Conflict - PCI Network Controller
Bus:00, Device:0A, Function:00
ERROR
Resource Conflict - PCI
Bus:00, Device:0A, Function:01

It won't let me boot, either.

So, I called the place that sold it to me, and they gave me an RMA number. I'll drop it off sometime soon, and they should be able to fix it while I wait.

Anyways, it seems like a nice lappy otherwise. Small, light, well designed.

So, you guys get a comparison pic for now (note: the ThinkPad is in the UltraBase - that doesn't do it justice when it comes to thickness):
