grizzly tales

inside passage to alaska

D'YOU KNOW.....?

Just spent 2 days in Juneau which is a weird and wonderful place ( artists, drunks, millionaires off cruise ships, Tlingit indians ). Off to Skagway today. Forgot to mention that we went up Furry Creek but it was a bit wet and the undergrowth made it impassable. However Mendenhall Glacier is a truly amazing place with huge lumps of ice floating on a fresh water lake where the glacier ends. Skagway is a famous mining town and has a bordello museum. I'm hoping it's one of those hands on ones. Bald eagles, ravens and fat, rich Americans everywhere. The Tlingit indians have a good take on western values and like a drink. The park rangers carry guns and walkie-talkies when they're in bear country; the Tlingits just have a dram and dance with them. We just shit ourselves everytime we go on a trail.

Anyway we're heading North away from the bright lights to where the wind blows to live with the Grizzlies. I had this dream last night that Spurs won the Premiership but when I woke up I realised that they still had Stalteri, Lee, Gardner, Jenas and Zakora and it was just a dream. John says hello and asks how the Canaries are doing but I wouldn't go there for a holiday...not after Alaska.

Hope you're all having as much fun as us...and Happy Birthday Tommy..

P.S. Photos to follow.

Hi Paul

I hope 'Furry Creek' isn't a dreadful euphamism!!! ...a bit wet...impassable undergrowth....bordello museum....it's all adding up!

Sounds like your having a fantastic time. The wedding went well and all the folks in Ireland send there love and best wishes.

hey paul

sounds like you are having a ball.I have been working almost non stop in poofland for the last few weeks. don't worry, Spurs are still crap, man utd won the community shield, and mourino is still a grumpy twat. do you think that your travelling companion is pretending to be deaf? I would if I was him.

Love

Paul, I'm not getting this blog bit. Are we supposed to send you congratulations for having a good time on an extended holiday in a fantastic setting, or are we supposed to provide you with snippets of news and gossip that your are too lazy or incapable of tracking down yourself via the worldwideweb.
Either way. I have better things to do.
And I'm certainly not going to bother to read your insufferable attempts at literary ramblings since I know, and expect, to be thoroughly inflicted with your insufferable attempts at drunken ramblings when we meet at a later date over a glass Coors, or half of London Pride.
I shall now sign off off and return to my email account to delete all the spam, unsolicited comments and foul messages full of sexual innuendo that I will have received after signing up to this particular site. Or that may in fact your blog.

Best wishes and kisses.
P.S.There was lovely sunset over Chingford tonight. West Brom have sold someone, but they've bought someone else.
PP.S. Have you caught a glimpse of Shania Twain's beaver?

Glad you're enjoying my literary ramblings Podge. West Brom should do well with him, I've heard he's very good. Haven't seen Shania, last sighted in a certain city in Croatia.

How's married life?

I'm now fooling around with a married woman, but it is not as much fun as I thought.
