Love at every corner in the world...

The last city we visited is Rom, the capital of Italy. Today, Rome is modern and cosmopolitan, and the third most-visited tourist destination in the EU.

As one of the few major European cities that escaped World War II relatively unscathed, central Rome remains essentially Renaissance and Baroque in character. The Historic Center of Rome is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

The city of Rome surrounds the Vatican City, the enclave of the Holy See, which is a separate sovereign state. It hosts Saint Peter's Square with the Saint Peter's Basilica. The open space before the basilica was redesigned by Gian Lorenzo Bernini, from 1656 to 1667, under the direction of Pope Alexander VII, as a forecourt, designed "so that the greatest number of people could see the Pope give his blessing, either from the middle of the façade of the church or from a window in the Vatican Palace" (Norwich 1975, p. 175). In Vatican City there are also the Vatican Library, Vatican Museums with the Sistine Chapel, the Raphael Rooms and other important works of Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, Giotto, and Botticelli.

Our next destination is Milan. It is one of the largest cities in Italy, located in the plains of Lombardy. The municipality has a population of 1.3 million. Milan is renowned as one of the world capitals of design and fashion.Milan Cathedral is the cathedral church of Milan. It is the seat of the Archbishop of Milan, currently Cardinal Dionigi Tettamanzi. On the street of Milan, you can see a lot of people, whose wearings are very fashionable and have attracted me a lot. In Milan, we had a great dinner next to the Milan Cathedral. The waiter is very elegant, and he gave us a flying kiss after we purchased with the tips.

We have met a very handsome policemen in Milan, when we were trying to find the famous church. His English was just so so, but hie smile has been left in our mind.

I and Lihua were threatened to give money to two disgusted guys. That really sucks.

It was not in Milan, but on the way to Milan. So many cars. The traffic jam in Italy was really terrible. We have waited about an hour on the express way to Milan.

In the last weekend, I went to visit a Germany friend in Konstanz with Lihua. We knew each other during the last seminar in Beijing. He has studied Chinese in Nanjing university for one year after he got the scholarship from the Germany foundation. He and his sister are studying in Konstanz, and his brother is studying in a private university not far away from Konstanz, and is living in Konstanz with his girlfriend just at the bodensee.

Konstanz is a district (Kreis) in the south of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Neighboring districts are (from west clockwise) Schwarzwald-Baar, Tuttlingen, Sigmaringen and the Bodensee. To the south it borders the Swiss canton Thurgau and Schaffhausen. The municipality of Büsingen is an exclave located inside the Kanton Schaffhausen.(zt from wikipedia.com)

We enjoyed us very much with them. Only the longs train trip made me feel really tired. Anyway, I have enjoyed the sunshine, the lake, the grill with the friends. It was really a fantastic experience.



It is a suburb in konstanz, from here we can see the beautiful bodensee.



The two elder just had a rest after walking for a long time. The weather was really excellent!
