It is the most crowded street in Istanbul, Taksim!

New Life, and new challenge

, ,

After a long times' trip, I can enjoy some of my spare time finally. All the way around, travelling, moving..... It seems that I do not have time to enjoy my life. Just go and go and go......

I think it is not a bad choice to move back to the dormitory. Anyway, the room is pretty big, and the roommates and ERASMUS friends are also very nice. I feel as at home again.

The turkish people are really always very nice. The only problem is that few of them can speak English well. I can smile and smile, and maybe do other gestures. That is ok. Anyway, that is not the first time, that I am in an unfamiliar city and country.

I try my life in a routine, that is, in a normal way. I can go to the university to attend some courses, to listen to the lectures, and I can enjoy the turkish meals, and I can do some gyms after studying, and I will finish my paper, and I will seek a new opportunity and challenge.

Travelling will be always a part of life since I came to Germany. I find it nice to know different cultures and know different people. To observe the people's behaviors and looking is also very interesting. I wonder why there are so many similarities between the Uyghur race and the turkish people. They look similar to each other, and the food, the music, and also the language. It is so amazing.

Turkey is an developing country, so I can see some shadows of China. And because of this, this semester will be very interesting. I think I will know many people and many friends from the country.

Another amazing thing in Turkey or in Istanbul that I found, is that there are so many cats on the street! Absolutely more that dogs. I like cats, but I have never seen so many cats on the street. I would like to discover more from the city and more from the deep culture and histories of this country.

Tomorrow will be the new week. I want to keep in a good mood, and would like to enjoy the new life in Istanbul!

Keep on movin!

Istanbul

After a long journey, I arrived in Istanbul finally.

I took the shuttle bus, and then I took the taxi to the turkish family's flat.

I will live in the city for four months. I cannot speak turkish, and I have to study and live here.

For me, it is really an unfamiliar city, which is so far away from China, and the culture is totally different!

What are my first impressions to the city?

1 The policeman of the entrance control was such an idiot. I took an hour to wait in the line to get out from the visa control and passengers from other lines got the entrance print so quickly!
2 chaos, compared with Germany; I have to return to the reality;
3 Not so many taxis as in the airport of Shanghai;
4 So few people can speak English;
5 Many cats; I have so many cats just along the road;
6 Doener; must taste that and compared with the ones in Germany, which one is more original;)?
7 When you go to the shopping center, you have to pass the safety entrance control;
8 Is istanbul on a hill? Down and up, up and down. A little bit like Dalian;
9 I have seen few bicycles on the street;
10 Few Asians, not mention Chinese;
11 very strange bus tickets, special coins, and special way to use the ticket;
12 not so many tall buildings; most of the buildings have 5 to 6 floors;

It is really very cold in Istanbul, and it was snowing today. Anyway, tomorrow I will be in the university. Maybe I could get some useful information there.

Will add some pictures the other days.

Weihnachten

,

This year, I had a special and beautigul chrismas. I had it with a germany family. It was so sweet and nice, and I really like it.

Wissmar is a small village, not far away from Giessen. The parents of Guido, the good friend of me, are living there. After 3 hours´ trip, I met XN and Guido at the main station of Giessen. The papa of Guido drove a Toyata, and picked us up.

It took about 15 minutes from the main station to the home of guidos parents. It is really a beautiful house, very big, and guido has lived in the house for about 30 years.

Varieties of delicious food and cookies, wine...... We picked the opa of Guido, and the aunt and the son of his aunt have also come to us. XN cooked, of course the chinese courses. And after the dinner, it was the most important part. We sang the songs, and we gave the gifts to each other. It was really sweet. People talked about the past, nice things, and the future.

I got to bed very early that evening, because I was really so tired. But I was really very happy. I felt not lonely, because the nice people were arond me.

The next day, Guido drove the car, and we have visited some small villages aound wissmar, and marburg. We climed the moutains, and I also fed the horse. It was really very interesting.

It was a really nice chrismas eve. Thanks, my dear friends:)

And I wish you all merry christmas and happy new year!

(He was happy to got the apple:))

Lost heart in Amsterdam

,

Have never seen a city with so many canals...... It makes me feel so good, and I begin to fall in love with the city---Amsterdam, the capital of holland.

It is never too difficult to go to Amsterdam, especially when I am living and working in Dusseldorf. Honestly, I do not like the city of Dusseldorf. But it has a good location. I mean, you can go to Brussel with less than 3 hours, and reach Amsterdam within good two hours. So it is perfect.

I got very reasonable train tickets online, because I booked it earlier. I was also satisfied with the B&B (Breakfast and Bed). The Stefan was very nice, and we had a good time there.

You will feel so good, when somebody comes to you and asks you if you need any help. I had also such experience in Paris. It makes me so good. There are many similarities between German and Dutch. Deutsch und Dutch:) So many people there can understand me, i.e. danke. That makes sense. I did not have many problems in Amsterdam.

What is special in Amsterdam?

Sex Museum. With 3 Euros, you will see a lot of interesting things, pictures and models:) Do not be suprised, if something shouts and laughs suddently. No gohst, so take it easy.

The red light zone. It is not far away from the Amserdam Central Station, and is also around the China Town. The girls or women are really very hot. We were passing by, and a beautiful girl spoke loudly to us, ni hao, alltogether? Very funny.

The gay scene. You will see a lot of rainbow flags in the city, video shops, leather shop, bars, discos. It is really a gay friendly city. So you are not gay, that means, you are not modern enough. In Amsterdam, you should be a bisexual at least:) I was also in a gay disco. It was very interesting. Knowning different cultures, and you will see how colorful the world is.

Take a ship and see the city durch the canals. An hour's trip is not long...... anyway, Amsterdam is not a big city to me, with a 700,000 population. It can not be campared with Beijing or Shanghai.

The windmill village. We took the train. 10 Euros for 2 persons, and after 15 minutes, you will arrive in a village. It is really a village, with so many windmills. There are also chickens and cheese, and also the special shoes made of woods.

I like the yoghourt in Amsterdam. I love the taste!

Two days is not a long time, and winter is also not the best season to visit the city. I will come here again, to see the queens festival and to see the tulips....

Lets enjoy the pictures.

More pictures are here:)

So many canals, and so many bridges.

In front of the Amsterdam Central.

Windmill village. Fantastic.

It is a gay book shop.

Unbelieveable, but it is true. All kinds of condoms, you will find here.

And diamonds:)

It is the famous square in Amsterdam.

Two days in Brussel

,

To use one word to describe the city is difficult. I can not say easily, "It is so fabulous!" or "It is chaos".

I got a map from the Hostel, which I booked directly from the Hostel website.

On this map, the city was described "ugly".

Honestly, some parts of the city is really ugly. But anway, it is an international city with so many important political institutions of EU.

I like it, but not love it. The chocolates are really fantasic. Not only is the taste delicous, but also is the design so perfect. I can understand, why people have to buy some chocolates to bring back for the friends and the family. I did it too.

I will miss the city. And maybe I will go there again.

Manneken Pis is seen as a symbol of French and Dutch cohabitation in Brussels. It is really small, out of my imagination:)
