Rain sẽ đóng phim tại Hollywood

Korean top entertainer Jung Ji-hoon, better known as Rain, is expected to make his Hollywood debut in the Wachowski brothers’ new film ``Speed Racer.’’
According to Rain’s agency JYP Entertainment, Rain has been offered a part in the new film directed by Andy and Larry Wachowski, the brothers renown for the ``Matrix’’ film series.
The agency said the casting negotiations are in the final stages.
If the casting is confirmed, Rain will perform with world-renowned Hollywood stars Susan Sarandon and John Goodman.
``Speed Racer’’ is an action movie based on a popular Japanese animation from 1967, revolving around an adventurous racing car driver.
The film is expected to begin shooting next month.
Meanwhile, the agency will not represent Rain anymore as his exclusive management contract with JYP Entertainment expired Friday. However, his world tour will be under his current contract with the three parties _ Star M, JYP and Rain.
JYP said they have not renewed the contract and have no plans to do so, ending the five-year partnership since his debut in 2002. ``We’ve discussed ways to sign a new contract. But we’ve decided to go our separate ways,’’ the agency said.
Behind Rain’s world-recognized popularity, singer-turned-producer Park Jin-young, head of JYP, has played an important role in grooming Rain as a global star, even before his debut in 2002.
Nothing has been confirmed, whether Rain will move to another management agency or establish his own independent company, until his world tour ends in June.

Top singer Rain, 25, with original name of Jung Ji-hoon, will be disclosed to have helped in secret his fan living a time-limited life due to serious cancer in a five-part special TV documentary Saturday.
Part 4 or “Promise of Mom” of “the Human Docu Love” to be aired by MBC at 11 p.m. on May 19 contains a tearful story of Ahn So-bong, 33, who had been told to live a six-month life due to stomach cancer checked after the birth of her first daughter.
In the process of the documentary production, the program producer found the undisclosed good deed of Rain. He has ecouraged Ahn mentally and supported her financially.
Rain is a fervent fan of Ahn since he found that her husband Kim Jae-moon had posted a story in the fan cafe of JYP Entertainment Rain belonged to then, “I hope Ji-hoon to encourage my wife.”
Rain, who lost his mother at his earlier days, got much pitied upon reading the story. On Chuseok holiday last year, the singer called at the ward where Ahn had been hospitalized, surprising the cancer patient to her delight. He also delivered 20 million won for her treatment before leaving for the Winter World Tour concert last year. Thereafter, he has often made calls to her husband to ask about her health.
“Rain felt very painful on the story of a young mother who had faced a time-limited life after her first childbirth, recalling his mother who had died at earlier age,” a close aide said. “It is very awkward to me as it has been disclosed in disregard of my intention although I have done the thing simply as a personal reason,” he was quoted as saying.
MBC has manufactured and aired the five-part documentary as a feature in the month of family, May.

U.S. Comedian Rains Mockery on Rain
"Endless modesty?" U.S. comedian Stephen Colbert had a few satirical words for Rain, Korea's top pop-singer.
Colbert mocked Rain, who beat Colbert in an online poll of the world's 200 most influential people by Time magazine, in a recent broadcast of his "Colbert on Demand" comedy show.
Colbert poked fool of Rain's motto from his official website, "Endless effort, endless endurance, endless modesty." Colbert said he is "infinitely more" modest than Rain and said, "Rain, It's time to rein in you."
Colbert also starred in a parody music video of Rain's hit "How to Avoid The Sun" and suggested that he is more influential than Rain.
In the parody video, Colbert danced to a song very similar to Rain's hit while dressed in the same kind of clothes and sun glasses that Rain wore in his video.
Colbert's version of the song, which he sang in Korean, included lyrics such as, "You know you're my girl, so get in my Hyundai. You know you're my girl, we can eat some kimchi."
Back-up vocals repeated the fact that Colbert was actually singing in Korean. In one segment of the video, Colbert hurls a copy of Time magazine with Rain's photo through a window.
Colbert seems to have made the video in response to the online poll which was released on May 4. The comedian ranked second after Rain with 278,381 votes. Rain topped the list with 470,174 votes.
