A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 2 PM EST Monday.
Low pressure over South Carolina will move up the eastern Seaboard
this evening... creating a tight gradient of accumulating snowfall
over the mid Atlantic region. Accumulating snows have begun to
affect portions areas of north central Virginia and southern
Maryland. Snowfall will be heaviest with this storm between 8 PM
and 3 am. Snowfall may taper off for a period afterwards... before
another period of snow occurs during the morning hours. Precipitation
is expected to end by mid morning Monday.
For areas from the Blue Ridge to Interstate 95 5 to 7 inches of
snow can be expected by Monday morning. Between I-95 and the
Chesapeake Bay totals of 7 to 10 inches are expected.
Gusty winds will develop after midnight and last throughout the
day Monday.
A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow are
expected or occurring. Strong winds are also possible. This will

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 2 PM EST Monday...
Low pressure off the South Carolina coast will deepen as it moves
up the mid Atlantic coast overnight into Monday morning. This low
pressure system will bring snow to the mid Atlantic region.
One area of snow will move across much of Maryland... northern
Virginia and the District of Columbia late this evening and during
the wee hours of the Monday morning. A second area of snow
associated with the low pressure system will move across the
warning area during the morning rush hour.
The highest total snow accumulations are expected to run along
and to the east of Interstate 95. Total accumulations are
expected to range from 6 to 9 inches in this area... with the
higher end of the range most likely occurring across central and
southern Maryland and into Virginia near the Fredericksburg area.
To the west of Interstate 95... a tighter gradient of snowfall
accumulation will occur. A range of 3 to 6 inches of snow is
expected west of Interstate 95... with locations near the Blue
Ridge favoring the lower end of the snowfall range.
Gusty winds will also develop overnight into Monday. Wind gusts
up to 35 mph will lead to blowing snow.

expected or occurring. Strong winds are also possible. This will
make travel very hazardous or impossible.
