Giving back to the great MyOpera community!

The CSS communities on My Opera now have their own chat room on OperaNet. Wether you want to learn about CSS, learn how to customize My Opera using CSS, learn how to customize websites using Opera or just want to chit-chat with people interested in CSS, this is the chat room for you.

You can join the chat by clicking the connect button in the Mibbit widget.

Alternatively, if you have a IRC client like Opera, Pidgin or mIRC installed, you can join the chat in #CSS on irc.opera.com

Sorry.. I can't chat with operamini :frown:

The Mibbit widget requires a web browser with JavaScript enabled in the client.
But you can use a stand-alone IRC client on your cell phone, such as jmIrc.
Once you've installed it, connect to irc.opera.com in the IRC client and enter the #CSS channel.

Hello

Mitch Cline 2. January 2010, 20:12

I would like to ask a probably very stupid question, is the a list of the DOM layout anywhere that i can use as a framework to apply css styling to create a theme?

DrLaunch 2. January 2010, 21:25

There's no sepatate DOM list available. But you can use Opera Dragonfly to view and copy the DOM from any page.

Mitch Cline 2. January 2010, 23:48

Thank You DrLaunch, Hmmmm....

DrLaunch 3. January 2010, 11:40

Opera Dragonfly is available from Tools -> Advanced -> Developer Tools, in the Opera Browser.

I'm not going to tell you anything more. You'll have to learn the rest by your self.

Mitch Cline 3. January 2010, 17:15

Thank you! I have tried to figure out exactly how dragonfly works, I kind of understand a little.

I have a basic knowlede of html and CSS, I am just really lost in DOM.

I am also aware of W3C tutorial site.

I am just a a little lost in the framework, at how much of the path of parent and child and multiple layering is required to be targeted.

Thank you for your response and I am. Pt looking for lessons, nor am I interested in stealing someone else's ideas, I am teaching myself.

Hope that you have a wonderful new year, and may it greatly exceed last year.

Mitch
