Be-Bop Deluxe - Sunburst Finish (1976)

Another fabulous find at my regular record shop in Penang during the '70s. I used to listen to this LP so often in my teenage years that I practically wore out the grooves... and the record player's stylus! It features some of the smartest British art-rock music of the era. The songs are catchy and witty, structurally and melodically sophisticated, and full of infectious drive.

Bill Nelson instantly became one of my guitar gods when I heard his blazing fuzz-fuelled solo on 'Crying to the Sky'.
