If you're looking for just one Clapton album that represents his best qualities as a singer, songwriter and guitar player, this is it! It has him trying his (slow) hand at everything from folk and blues to reggae, pop and funk. The results are often spectacular, and every track is infused with a heartwarming sincerity of expression.
Really, what a great bunch of songs! And the performances have a live feel that radiates excitement and energy even when the proceedings are laidback, mainly because it was all recorded in an ostensibly relaxed, homely atmosphere.
