The Music of My Youth

...because your earliest musical memories are the ones that matter the most!

Jeff Beal's 'Liberation' for free

Jeff Beal's 'Liberation' is one of those great little-known fusion albums of the '80s — a largely atmospheric work that not only seamlessly combines an electronic edge with a jazz sensibility but also explores cinematic impressionism with Coplandian grace and grandeur. As my cassette copy of the LP had practically worn out years ago, I was recently elated to find tracks from it as free MP3 downloads on the Emmy-award winning (TV's 'Monk' theme) composer/trumpeter's site. This is the only place now where you can legally get the out-of-print album. The music page also includes free MP3 files from other deleted Beal recordings. Link
