The Music of My Youth

...because your earliest musical memories are the ones that matter the most!

Splinter - Costafine Town (1974)

British duo Splinter (Bill Elliott and Bobby Purvis) made an auspicious recording debut on George Harrison's A&M-distributed Dark Horse label in 1974 but never really achieved the fame they deserved despite releasing two follow-up albums. I wasn't much of a pop fan in the '70s, but I did like 'The Place I Love' enough to part with RM10 for the LP (import, no less!) which soon became a favourite memory-jolter. This BBC video clip has the duo performing a stripped-down version of their gorgeously melodic hit 'Costafine Town' from the album.
