Opera Software Seminar at My Campus

This year, my campus become host of many big events or seminars, such as INDECT, geMasTIK etc. Then especially in this November, it become host of Opera software seminar university tours. And since I'm a user or fans of Opera software browser, so yesterday, I vacated my time to come and watch that seminar at GSG Building in my campus area.
The seminar have title (in Indonesian) "Opera Software Seminar Universitas" and its main theme is about open web standards and mobile web platform. The seminar's duration is two hours with two main sessions (presentation and discussion session). And the speakers are Zi Bin, Cheah (Opera Browsers Developer) and Bruce Lawson (Opera Web Evangelist), their presentation really attractive and informative especially for the topic about open web standards.
From the seminar, I can conclude that web standards are really important stuff as basis for web technology development and with implement the standards we can assure that our web application interface could be rendered goodly by various web browsers so we can avoid vendor's technology lock-in and give more compatibility to the applications. And as practical things to web developer, they explained too in more detail about those new open web standards technology like HTML 5, CSS 3, SVG etc. And actually I really interested with SVG technology, its implementation now supported by many opensource desktop/window environment like KDE and GNOME which uses the SVG as their default format for icons and their application images. For more know about SVG, now I try to learn editing SVG images using Inkscape which running on my FreeBSD box, it very interesting you know... :D
Afterward, these few photos of that event that I take from my cellphone's camera (sorry for its bad quality)...

At the end, the opera software seminar brings many quite intresting things, so i wanna say thanks to Opera education tour for their coming to my campus and especially for this souvenir below which gave to me... hehehehehe :D
