I've been catching up on NRK's Hjernevask lately on the internet, seeing as my TV is currently useless. (My Norwegian one died during the US Open Tennis, and my UK one displays pictures but no sound... just about use-able for sports events if you can find radio/internet commentary not too far out of sync...).
They're interesting programs on fascinating subjects, but the formula for each episode is the same: find a Norwegian researcher who supports the "environment" position, travel to USA/UK to talk to researchers who think there must be a substantial biological component, then go back to Norway and make fun of the silly little Norwegian researchers.
It's pretty cool to have interviews with the likes of Steven Pinker right enough, but couldn't they find more Norwegian researchers who supported "nature" (or indeed non-Norwegians who supported "nurture")?
Anyway, nature or nurture, it's the World cup next month, French Open in just a few weeks....conclusion: new TV purchase imminent.
