Fun With Our Boston Terriers

Jersey Bostons - Here in our home we raise and train our Boston Terriers Puppies, as if we’re going to keep them forever… That maybe a motto to some, it’s our lifestyle here. Our Dogs are as much a part of our family members as our children.

Savannah Georgia

We took the dogs to Georgia, what a nice trip, they did very good. We left early evening on the way down and that proved successful and we left early in the morning, again that proved successful.
I was concerned that Opal was going to upchuck, as she's still in the stage of over eating so she can upchuck for the pups (even though no pups are around).

Our dogs were perfect guests at our daughter's new home... I wasn't even concerned once we entered threw the front door. Atlas is HUGE ...well compaired to our bostons. He's around 40lbs now and he can accidently on purpose find himself on a couch (he's got that mastiff slithering down, I thought that stuff happened after a year of age).

We didn't go out much with the dogs, as the trip was more of a send off for our son in law ....he's going back to Iraq in a few days *tear.

We brought our new gaming system down to their home and it was a hit ...with the humans and the dogs. Every time anyone swung, bowled or moved the wii remote, the dogs thought we were tossing something for them to find and they'd sniff all around the 1100 sq ft down stairs ....never finding anything. they were so tricked and didn't like it. I caught on what they were doing so I'd get the rope toy and toss it till my arms had enough.

Tips:
One of our pups seem to be a HUGE trouble maker and her new home has had the ultimate puppy makeover. We never know what kind of personality will come out... and well dogs are dogs and we have to adapt and train them accordingly. NO hard feelings when you have to do what's right for the pup... if she or he's a chewer, and wont follow commands when your back is turned, then don't be shy about having a room or a gated area for them to horse around in a safer environment.

Chewing and swallowing items can lead to their death even with surgery. I was on an office visit with my pups and there were a couple emergencies with dog chew toys. One being stuffed with cotten (which doesn't show up on x-ray) and the other a rawhide chewy that got stuck in the 10 month old terrier pup... the vet eventually got the item into the stomach and of all blessed things, we ran into the daughter at the pet store and she let us know everything eventually worked out.

it's kind of amazing how quick we can bond to other pet owners in no time at all... the kid was like... she knew who we are and was so happy to let us know things were ok... I got on the phone and called, emailed everyone be careful with dog toys... I use tennis balls (supervised as terriers can rip them apart in no time when left alone), old cotten socks (single knot in center) makes good throw toy for pups and adults. and ropes ...they love to tug, but be warned too with the rope pulling, they'll hang on even be lifted off the floor, but they can loose their teeth from that and that's just not cool as much as people like to show off these things... think of their teeth too and lean on the safer side.

I ordered a water pick for their teeth. Last year after I gave Max a bath once... I just happened to brush his teeth with the hose in the tub, I decided it would be so much easier to just to use the water pik... tada older stinky boston breath problem resolved. it takes a while to get them adapted to it ....just like it did with me putting a hose from the tub in their mouth but they trust us and we never mess with their trust so they're quicker to follow directions then a dog that doesn't trust.
