The coolest Cool Viewer ever: 1.20.14.0 with Dazzle!!!

Here it comes, the long awaited Cool Viewer with switchable UI. You can now choose between the classic look and the new "Dazzle" interface, while still featuring the buttons from the older viewers CV is famous for *smile*.

Build on the latest 1.20.14.0 sources and including Marine's RLV 1.11.5.1 all the remarks from the previous build applies. You need to install the "official" Release candidate 1.20.14.0 first, then extract the Cool Viewer archive over it replacing all files.

Important: The viewer will show an update notification at startup. Please ignore this, it is a bug and affects all 3rd party viewers! Do not update!

Cool Viewer 1.20.12.0 / 1.19.0.5 with RestrainedLife 1.11.5.1

After a little bit of delay, didn't we all say RL comes first? :wink:, here is the latest Cool Viewer based on the 1.20.12.0 and 1.19.0.5 sources and incorporating Marine's RLV 1.11.5.1. As previously, you need to install the Linden Viewer first. Then extract the content of the CV archive over it. Please start the CV with SecondLife.lnk in the same directory.

All Users (Basic and Premium) Should Be Able to Request an Inventory Repair

"Inventory loss continues to be a major problem in Second Life. For instance, recently a bug has been wreaking havoc with HUDs and other attachments, making them disappear when detached. This problem is easily fixed by a customer service person running an inventory repair script on the account. It is unacceptable that currently Basic accounts have no pathway to get support from Linden Labs to fix this.

Linden Lab should either open a pathway for Basic members to request an inventory repair from customer service.

A function should be added to the Second Life website which allows users to run the inventory repair script themselves."

Cool Viewer 1.20.11.0 full

A number of people have again problems to install the Cool Viewer over the release candidate. I put together a full installation. You simply need to extract this into C:\Program Files\ and it should create a SecondLife folder there. I suggest to uninstall all previous versions or at least rename the existing SecondLife folder and also to delete all user_settings and the cache folders (in C:\Documents and Settings\<login>\Application Data\SecondLife\ for Windows XP or C:\Users\<login>\Appdata\roaming\secondlife\ for Windows Vista).

Please note that the following libraries and components are not included in the package as they are not redistributable. To get full functionality please copy them from the official Linden Labs 1.20 RC viewer:

llkdu.dll (Kakadu JPEG2000 library)
SLVoice.exe (Voice deamon)
SLVoiceAgent.exe
vivoxsdk.dll (Vivox Communications API)

The viewer will still run without them but with lower performance (OpenJPEG) and missing voice features.

Cool Viewer 1.20.11.0 / 1.19.0.5 with RestrainedLife 1.11.3 (Group IM fixed)

Here comes the latest update of the Cool Viewer with Marine's RestrainedLife 1.11.3. Two versions as always, one without Windlight based on release 1.19.0.5 for a bit slower machines and a bleeding edge (c) Nicholaz ;-) version based on the very latest RC 1.20.10.0. The really cool thing with this 1.20 is, it is de-dazzled, It features the old user interface the Cool Viewer is famous for :-). Henri did again a fantastic job with it.

As always, you need to install the Linden version first, then extract all archives of the CV archive over it. Please be carefull not to mix versions.

Please note that due to the changed behaviour of the RestrainedLife viewer you may experience a crash when starting the viewer. In such a case simply delete all files in your cache folder and it should start normally. The cache files can be found at: C:\Documents and Settings\<login>\Application Data\SecondLife\cache for Windows XP or C:\Users\<login>\Appdata\roaming\secondlife\cache for Windows Vista.

Please direct problems in this regard to the RealRestraint updates & support group.

Marine just released version 1.11.1 of her RLV. Some people have problems, be it crashing or features (release keys button) as reported in the RealRestraint support group.

For the time being I offer a download of her previous version as backup.

Cool Viewer, minor update

IMPORTANT: Due to problems with the Apache Runtime Libs I introduced a major memory leak in these latest builds resulting in instability and crashes. Please redownload the archives if you have done so before and replace the SecondLife.exe (this applies also for the BL Viewer). Sorry :-)

Here is a small update to synchronize the Windows version of the Cool Viewer with Henri's Linux builds to 1.19.1.4, release 7 and the a slighty faster 1.19.0.5, release 10 without Windlight. Included are 3 more patches: AmbiantMasterVolume, ObjectsSelectionGroup, UnbindTarget. One patch was corrected: TextureCacheHiccup. Most people wont notice a difference, so an update is not really required if you us an earlier version of either release.

Update: Cool SL Viewer 1.19.1.4 / 1.19.0.5 with RestrainedLife 1.10.5.2

It's update time again. Taken into account some recent issues as posted I was not really sure what to do. Problems however seem to be resolved now, and I give it another shot.

Here are two updated Cool SL Viewer version 1.19.1.4 and for slower machines 1.19.05. Both contain all the previous patches plus you may now build and teleport over 768m (and up to 4096m) high in SL, and may build up to 100m large prims in OpenSim (not in SL, due to server-side restrictions).

To install the Cool Viewer you need first to install a full version of the official SecondLife viewer 1.19.1.4 or 1.19.0.5 respectively. Then simply extract the content of this archive over the installation and replace all files with the ones in this archive. This turns it into an Cool Viewer.

Cool Viewer on hold

[Update] Thanks god and thanks to my dear friend Summer, all could be resolved. Somehow there was a weird RL name in my profile I did not put in. And the lady had no explanation as well. So all is ok. B-9140 is back for now. *breaths deep, still in shock*

About an hour ago my account was disabled by Linden Labs. I have no idea what happend. I did not get any information from them, nothing. Only that I should contact their support.

I opened a ticket and now I am waiting.

After quite a while it is time for something really Cool again *smile*. Here comes the latest 1.19.1.4 with all the Cool Viewer modifications, with built-in Windlight and of course Marine's RestrainedLife 1.10.5.2. And it is better than ever before, now settings can easily be adjusted with a Cool Tab in the preferences. For all the included features and details, please have a look in the included Release Description. It is simply too much to list all here *smiles*

A small update. This latest build incorporates 2 more patches and aligns with Marines RL 1.10.5.2. It should also fix current memory leaks of the official 1.19.1.4 (thanks Nicholaz!). It is only the .exe file and skin folder, please replace the ones in the Official Linden 1.19.1.4 viewer with the new ones

This archive contains the exe and xml files only, you need to extract it over an existing installation of the Linden 1.19.0.5 viewer, which will be turned into a Cool SL Viewer. It should not ask for a mandatory update, just in case, if it does start it with the following option in your shortcut:
"C:\Program Files\SecondLife\SecondLife.exe" -channel "Cool SL Viewer" -set SystemLanguage en-us
