One's own yardage as a result of a Golf GPS System
Just about every golf GPS system’s main feature is the ability to tell the distances towards the front, center and back of every green. It is also the feature which will most benefit your golf game.
The yardage markers on the golf course tell you the distance towards the center from the green. Without your yardage book, you've got no idea what are the size of the green is so a person cannot determine the distances towards the front and back from the green. This causes you to concentrate on and employ the yardage towards the center from the green. A better approach would be to initially look at the yardage range from the front towards the back from the green.
Golf GPS systems provide you with a yardage choice to concentrate on instead of a single yardage. You will want to narrow down that initial range. The process of narrowing down that range enables you to think about pin placement and which way the green slopes. My ball may be sitting right in the 150 yard marker which is a perfect 7 golf iron personally. By simply looking inside my golf GPS system, I actually see I have 135 yards towards the front from the green and 165 yards towards the back. I need to narrow that yardage range down, so I look at the pin and also notice it's on the front half of the green. I would estimate so that it is 140 to 145 yards away. I additionally look at the slope from the green and find out it slopes down in the to the leading. Armed with this information, I actually now observe that I’d be much better off hitting my 8 golf iron. My 8 golf iron yardage is actually 140 yards. I will leave my own self a pleasant uphill putt basically smack it a little short of the hole. If I hit my 7 golf iron, I’d likely land it past the hole and then leave myself a tricky downhill putt.
A golf GPS system can help you look at the distance left towards the golf green as a yardage range. Thus giving you an advantage compared to using the single yardage towards the center from the green that the golf course yardage markers give you.
