Allied Telesis gets Italian network deal

Under the contract, California's Allied Telesis says its will integrate its SwitchBlade x908 modular Web Protocol/Ethernet switch with its 10-gigabit fiber uplink technologies which will supply air force personnel with mission-critical streaming video and other data communications capabilities.
The air force contract also includes the Allied Telesis-x900 advanced layer three and AT-x600 gigabit edge Internet Protocol/Ethernet switches to supply the Italian military installations with a next-generation secure and reliable network solution.
"Our understanding with the specific requirements required to assistance highly technical and classified applications enables us to deliver the ultra-safe, never-fail networks that assistance mission-critical requirements," Philip Jopa, Allied Telesis chief technology officer, said in a statement.
Allied Telesis officials said the organization was selected by the Italian air force for its encounter working with military organizations from around the world.
