I've been thinking of starting another one about technology since a long time, and have finally got around to it.
Lets see how far this journey goes
For the record, I love Opera!

Opera is indeed cool - if, that is, you're talking about the browser. however, a significant drawback is the lack of support for ActiveX controls. [ or have they interoduced that in later releases? ]

No browser apart from IE supports ActiveX components.
However, Opera does support Netscape style plugins, and that is how most dynamic content does render correctly in Opera.
The potential security flaws inherent in the use of ActiveX components are the primary reasons for the problems with Internet Explorer.
I wouldn't really want ActiveX in Opera, especially if they come with the security flaws.
However, I think you mean that Opera doesn't support dynamism using Java, Flash and Ajax etc. In this, you are mistaken. The latest versions of Opera have full support for almost all dynamic web technologies.
