Weekend update!

So....Casting on went alright, except that I changed the color of the yarn. Shaun thought it would be too bright on my very very sparsely pigmented white skin. Ugh, some days I love that I can't tan, others I feel like a ghost. It's just a lighter, softer sky blue.

See? I even managed to get all of the short rows done with out throwing it across the room in fury, which is an acheivement. Unfortunately, when I looked at my work, it seems that i worked wrong side short rows on right side fabric, and vice versa. I wanted to cry. Then I threw it across the room...but not before taking pictures of the catastrophe.

That's on the right side of the fabric. It actually happened on both edges of the short rows. And now for the wrong side.

I have absolutely no clue what i did wrong, but I know that I was attempting the wrapping method. I think I may try the japanese method next time, since I've heard it's a better result.
I just bought a couple of knitting books off amazon marketplace and can't wait for them to arrive! They're from my two favorite designers that I've seen:
-Knitting Lingerie Style, by Joan McGowan-Michael
-Fitted Knits, by Stefanie Japel
The thing I like about knitted lingerie is that all lingerie is meant to be little bitty pieces. I have a short short short attention spa--O look! A Doggie! (Kidding, sorta). But for those with limited attention span there are few options in knitting - dishcloths, baby & children's, and itsy bitsy teeny weenie yellow polka dot bikini and bralette. The Fitted Knits book is just something I've been lusting after and seems to have a lot of knit-alongs with it, so maybe I might actually finish some big project having that kind of accoundability.
Speaking of accountability, the reason I started this post was to inform anyone reading this about the numbers that will start appearing everyday. I feel that to be successful in losing weight, I need to be accountable to other people. Sooo, since this is as good a place as any to create the possibility of public humiliation, I will post my weight every Monday, and hopefully that number goes down every week.
I think that about covers it for tonight - See y'all tomorrow morning!
