Judge declares Pledge unconstitutional
Here we go again. Now once more, all of Congress stand on the steps, say the "Pledge", look at their money which says "In God We Trust", listen to the President end every address with "God bless America" and then fight about keeping church and state separate.
Kids are punished for saying prayers at sporting events, yet our congressman and President can say whatever they like? Make up your minds, folks. You can't have it both ways. Separate or don't separate, but let's have a clear answer and stick with it.
The difficulty is that we really don't know what the framers had in mind. Perhaps they meant that as long as you believe in God, you can do it how and where you like. Perhaps they meant that you don't have to believe in anything or anyone except America. But someone's going to have to go out on a limb, take a chance and make a decision. Perhaps we will then see what a Holy War is really like in our own country.
