Almost at 1.0 for the OpenCOBOL FAQ

, ,

Well met,

The FAQ is getting very close to being at a state of dropping the Release Candidate status. Just finished the last Intrinsic Function entry. All the reserved words for OpenCOBOL 1.1-prerel are in. OpenCOBOL 2.0 changes will start as soon as the 1.0 (it'll probably be tagged as 1.1 to match the OpenCOBOL version) is released.

I just posted 1.0rc93, weighs in at 358 pages in Opera's Print Preview.

OpenCOBOL FAQ

Cheers,
Brian

Hey, do you know any good resources for learning it

The FAQ itself has learning tidbits peppered throughout, but start with http://opencobol.add1tocobol.com/OpenCOBOL%20Programmers%20Guide.pdf and use the FAQ when you need how-to's. Gary's Guide is a world class COBOL programmer's document.

This is way early to announce, and late on the comment thread.

Moodle COBOL courseware site is starting up at http://peoplecards.ca/opencobol so far no assignments, just Hello.
