BUREWALA: PML (N) MNA Khawaja Saad Rafiq has that news about Saudi authorities’ direction to PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif to stay away from elections until 2010 are propaganda and added such reports were part of a character assassination campaign directed against the PML-N leadership. He was talking with newsmen at the residence of Late Dr Nazir Ahmad Mithu Dogar here on Monday evening. He said Nawaz Sharif don’t accept American dictation but Saudis have very cordial relationship with Mian Nawaz Sharif and they know his personality and importance for his country and they would never ask him such things. He said that Nawaz Sharif candidature from NA-123 would be decided in central leadership meeting soon after the return of Mian Nawaz Sharif. He said that Kerry-Lugar Bill is in its final process and government should have informed American leadership about reservation of the nation about this bill through diplomatic channels and added that Pakistan should not accept foreign trade at the cost of its sovereignty and prestige. To a question against that why PML-N leadership has gone to back step he said that his party did their politics according to a set of values and traditions, not just for the acquisition of power. “We both mainstream political parties know our limits, and will never pave way for the anti-democratic forces to come in at any cost but if the current situation persists and Zardari government continue with its policies then Zardari government have to go as we don’t want to open door of earlier politics of sabotage. He praised Late Mithu Dogar sacrifices for the party and termed his death great loss for the party and workers.
